Tasted by csnash22 on 1/24/2024 & rated 90 points: Medium(+) intensity aromas of spiced cherries, strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, blueberries, and blackberries. High alcohol, medium tannin and acidity, dry, with a medium finish of spiced cherries and mixed berries. Enjoyable wine (perfect with braised pork chops), but lacking a bit of complexity at a $50-60 price point. (174 views)
Tasted by Gpatt on 6/23/2023: Great wine. Smooth not harsh on finish. Fruity on the nose. (435 views)
Tasted by kmicho on 4/17/2023 & rated 93 points: I wrote the below a few months ago. It still stands. This is a great Zin. Super well balanced. Really, really, really enjoy. This is a pretty awesome Zin.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It tastes like cranberry, raspberry, strawberry, raisin and prune. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. (496 views)
Tasted by kmicho on 1/18/2023 & rated 88 points: My rating is based on the fact that I do prefer my Zins jammier.

This is a good Zin. The nose is fresh and bright. On the palate, I get plum, pepper, oak, some slightly tart cherry. Still pretty tannic. Still quite grippy on the sides of the tongue. I would have expected it to mellow more by now. It’s a beautiful deep ruby color. All in all enjoyable, but I think there are other options which are similarly good at a better price point. Hendry comes to mind. Perhaps the higher end Four Vines or Murphy Goode. (605 views)

Tasted by srwatters on 7/10/2022: Sunday night is for pasta and Zinfandel! The ‘16 Inglenook Edizione Pennino is in a perfect spot. Well integrated and soft with perfect acid to compliment my slightly spicy marinara with ground turkey sauce. Drink or hold for a few years. (518 views)
Tasted by Saberist on 2/13/2021 & rated 91 points: Tastes like an Italian Primitivo rather than a California Zin. Very Old World. Mouth filling dark fruit, red cherries. Velvet smooth. Muted tannins. Spice. Really liked this. (925 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
