| Community Tasting Notes (average 89.4 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 10 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Bryan49 on 3/22/2024 & rated 88 points: Nose of strawberry, rhubarb. Red fruit and limestone on the palate that reflects the terroir. Drinking well, albeit not likely to get better. Nice wine, but nowhere as good as their Syrah offerings. (736 views) | | Tasted by EvanJB on 11/17/2020: Very nice fruit, strawberry notes, drinking nicely. (717 views) | | Tasted by EvanJB on 11/14/2020 & rated 90 points: Notes of strawberry on nose and palate, nice, fresh light fruit (689 views) | | Tasted by BHRH on 10/9/2020 & rated 90 points: Lighter red, almost Pinot-like in color. Bursting with fresh boysenberries and cherries, a nice dose of minerality, and perhaps a bit of dustiness. Nice, bright strawberry-ish fruit all the way through to the finish. Perfect now, could lay down a couple more years, but why wait?! (706 views) | | Tasted by EvanJB on 1/11/2020 flawed bottle: Bad bottle (916 views) | | Tasted by cdebeau on 7/13/2019 & rated 90 points: light bodied, strawberry (572 views) | | Tasted by Vinnut on 8/12/2018 & rated 90 points: Deep, dark red garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, boysenberries & plums with overtones of floral notes & spice notes of cloves, earthy/dusty, dried herbs, minerals & a slight hint of toasty oak. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, rich ripe dark fruit flavors of sweet cherries, boysenberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals, earthy & some toasty oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but has the potential for further development with additional aging. (1002 views) | | Tasted by RayRay88 on 4/21/2018: Drank a little too early, and it had pretty heavy notes of cherry, limestone, cedar, and a bit syrup-y. (1004 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
