Tasted by Wild Boar on 6/4/2023 & rated 93 points: A lush, full-bodied white blend. Perhaps the richest Sauv Blanc blend I’ve ever had. Age has mellowed some of the funk I experienced in my first bottle a year ago. Oak is evident in the nose but subdued in the mouth. Long finish with white peach and a pleasant bitterness. Drank by itself, really enjoyable. (900 views)
Tasted by goodvitis.com on 3/16/2023 & rated 95 points: Aromas include cantaloupe, honeydew, fresh mint, papaya, lanolin, and graham cracker crust. Medium bodied with smooth, juicy acid and a lush, creamy mouthfeel. Flavors include lime flavored shaved ice, lactose, fresh mint, dried tarragon, melon, and sweet lime juice. This is quite complex with a lot of depth and bright juicy acid. This bottle is even better than the one we had in 11/22. We have two more bottles and I’m looking forward to stringing them out over the next four years. (962 views)

Tasted by kaeric on 3/15/2023: Have to Murphy (926 views)
Tasted by drmilkweed on 1/1/2023 & rated 89 points: Buttery and oaky, bitter and toasty notes over red apple, fig, apricot. Moderate acid, medium finish. (1158 views)
Tasted by The Drunken Cyclist on 12/7/2022 & rated 96 points: Retail $50. Heavy Bottle. 79% Sauvignon Blanc, 21% Sauvignon Gris. Tasted along side the 2020 Elevage Blanc and while the 2016 has more of a muted nose, holy cow. As it warmed a touch, I picked up a panoply of fruit aromas: peach, pear, citrus. There was also a mineral aspect and a slight honeyed, caramel note. The palate is so complex, with great fruit and weight. The mid palate is just amazing. Rich, on the verge of unctuous but completely stunning. While this is not labeled as such, it technically is a Sauvignon Blanc and I can count on one hand the list of other SBs I have tasted in the class of this 2016 Elevage Blanc. 96 Points.

Tasted by dchapman100@gmail.com on 11/12/2022: Not much experience with this style of wine, but washed down everything bagel with cream cheese, lox, red onion, and caper splendidly. (597 views)
Tasted by goodvitis.com on 11/12/2022 & rated 94 points: Beautiful nose shows a little of big age: Marcona almond, dried apricot, dried pear, preserved lemon, and orchid. Nearly full bodied with round acid, the mouthfeel is glycerin in viscosity and texture. Flavors include pear, white peach, dried marigold petal, vanilla curd, and flinty minerality. This is starting to come into its own, and I think it probably has another two to four years of interesting development ahead. (605 views)
Tasted by drmilkweed on 10/3/2022 & rated 93 points: Fresh, herbal nose. Slightly caramel/butterscotch and tropical fruits, creamy, and oak on the palate. Welll balanced, tart. Nicely complex old world style. (894 views)
Tasted by Djwinelady on 9/4/2021 & rated 77 points: Good- more like a chardonnay (1348 views)
Tasted by wine4lux on 8/17/2020 & rated 93 points: One of my favorite vintages of Elevage Blanc. Neutral on the palate initially explodes into a wave of grapefruit, soften by notes of white melon. Long finish. (1556 views)
Tasted by Voelkesj on 7/25/2020 & rated 80 points: Drinks better cold. Not bad for a summer night or paired with a white fish, but not worth the $50 price tag IMO. (1662 views)
Tasted by Château de Farmer on 7/24/2020 & rated 86 points: Terrible QPR at $50, but also not a bad wine. Drinks more fresh and fruity and dime-a-dozen. There are hundreds of similar wines priced under $25 that match or outcompete this. Chimney Rock can make some good wines, but the prices are rarely competitive. (1638 views)
Tasted by Lax4 on 5/31/2020 & rated 89 points: Great summer wine, light and fruity with hints of citrus in every tasting. (1763 views)
Tasted by bwwixted on 5/1/2020: Liked by all, crisp, fruity, nice crisp color. (913 views)
Tasted by JMellet on 11/2/2019: Jen really liked it, great tropical fruits (696 views)
Tasted by Rossdhu House on 6/23/2018 & rated 90 points: Berries balanced PG 21% and 79% Sav Blanc. A little sweet but a big hit with the girls who tastes peaches and apricots and light Lemmon? Very refreshing. (1131 views)
Tasted by Lax4 on 5/26/2018 & rated 89 points: great wine with the first pour. Bright citrus flavors that we will enjoy for the summer bottle after bottle (1122 views)

White Blend

"White blend" means the wine is made from a blend of two or more different white varieties - or in some cases a blend of pink or red varieties that are vinified white, ie. without any skin contact.
A blend of Antao, Arinto, Rouperio.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
