Quite a bit of tannin, yet the bell pepper, earth and some florals find their way to the front. Hard to assess, but decent with dinner.
I am almost aligned with "Afields" there is not enough varietal character her for me to score it, and it stands somewhere between Loire and CA in the way it is made. Garzon needs to find the identity of this wine more clearly to make it express the vineyard. M body, M- or lower tannin, M to M- acid. My first wine from Uruguay I think but nothing really stands out here. We have a lot of cab franc because my wife really likes it and this is one of the least memorable/interesting/good bottles we’ve had in a while; nothing “bad” here just meh. 4.5/10 (889 views) | | Tasted by pjleppo on 11/4/2019 & rated 89 points: Nice dark color, velvet, silky texture. Notes of Chocolate, vanilla, and berries. (914 views) | | Tasted by Cesar Fraga on 9/27/2019 & rated 89 points: Aspecto visual rubi, intenso, limpo, brilho. Aroma de frutas vermelhas maduras, framboesa, notas de especiarias, chocolate. Em boca bom volume, equilíbrio acidez e álcool, taninos macios. Boa presistencia. (892 views) | | Tasted by CourtlyDoc on 8/24/2019 & rated 93 points: We decanted this wine about 2 hours before eating, and had it with chicken, tortellini drizzled with Alfredo and pesto sauce. It was lovely, full of berries and absolutely silky texture. Medium mouthfeel, and medium finish. We remarked at the end of the meal that while it was completely enjoyable, the wine would probably pair better with charcuterie. 8/25/19- We had the other half of the bottle tonight, with pizza made on naan bread, topped with with goat cheese and carmelized onion, then sprinkled with a arugula, red pepper flakes, And a light drizzle of asiago white truffle oil when taken from the oven. OMG! Perfect pairing! (938 views) | | Tasted by fanglangzhe on 12/29/2018 & rated 87 points: Dark fruits, herbs, vegetal note (bell peppers), slight mocha note. Moderate oak, med/low acidity. (1078 views) | | Tasted by Umay Ceviker on 11/15/2018 & rated 88 points: Shows an array of red and black forest berries with good definition, persistence and overall balance. (422 views) |
