Tasted by Jestright on 1/18/2021: Loved this. Gift from Dana. Should buy again (656 views)
Tasted by Château de Farmer on 12/20/2020 & rated 89 points: Good mature cab. Tomato and tertiary red fruit, but still good acid. Tannins soft. Drink now, this is in a good place but on the downslope. (698 views)
Tasted by twich22 on 11/21/2020 & rated 94 points: Drinking really well (704 views)
Tasted by GoliathOnline on 10/17/2020 & rated 90 points: Probably just past its peak but lovely stonefruit and blackberry notes. Short finish, great and unassuming with a nice grilled NY strip. Decanted for about 3 hours before drinking - more might have helped but that seemed sufficient. (715 views)
Tasted by Miralicious on 8/28/2020 & rated 89 points: Nice easy drinking cab near the end of its peak window. Meaty paprika funk, smoke, blackberry and graphite aroma with more meaty paprika and dark berry on the palate. Full flavor and balanced tannins with some nice acid. Non-astringent. Reminded me of that bottle of Ukrainian wine we snagged from our hotel room in Kiev and shared with our friends in Israel. (275 views)
Tasted by Zafer on 8/24/2020 & rated 88 points: Nondescript grassy Cab reminiscent of a lot of bargain basement Bordeaux I had as a student. Inoffensive, fine to drink, but lacks anything to make me want another bottle. (274 views)
Tasted by Ericheidt on 2/21/2019 & rated 93 points: Needed 2 hours to open - pop and pour had unattractive nose. Drank over 2-3 hours and became the evening favorite by the end. (1437 views)
Tasted by RMacFMayer on 12/9/2018 & rated 92 points: Very subtle, let it breathe (1422 views)

Tasted by Woodbridge Brad on 8/23/2018 & rated 89 points: At seven years this wine has aged into its plateau. Dark color, mild black olive and cherry nose, it is completely developed in the mouth. The acidity is ample and the tannins all soft and structural, and the mild flavors mirror the aromas. This is a very harmonious wine, nothing overpowering, yet very much there and supple. Lovely food wine. Will hold like this for a few years but why wait. (1530 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
