Tasted by Bradetti on 6/5/2015 & rated 91 points: My first wine from Kühn. In the nose typically Rheingau from Oestrich / Hallgarten.
On the palate fresh with crystal-clear acidity in balance with yellow fruits. Overall dry but with a nice sappiness which absorbs the dry effect very interestingly!
Pretty well stuff! (1203 views)
Tasted by fhayek on 12/4/2013 & rated 91 points: Such a great wine! Has the masculine structure of Rheingau Rieslings but is more fruity and rich than most others. Great balance. A real pleasure to drink.

Take care to drink it not too cold, because then it shows a very different face. (1491 views)
Tasted by fhayek on 5/1/2013 & rated 90 points: Delicious.
Don't even know why I liked this so much, certainly different style from the Mosel/Saar Rieslings that I love so much.
This is more masculine, but still very frinkable and fruity, with wonderful balance.
Hint: worth to wait a few hours after opening the bottle, also try it a bit warmer than usual for whites.
12 Euros well spent. (1506 views)
Tasted by honest bob on 6/3/2012 & rated 84 points: Peter Jakob Kühn, Rheingau (Macis restaurant, Leipzig): Some residual SO2 blurs the almost Mosel-like slate on the nose; not much else in the way of scent here. Entry (reassuringly) much more like Rheingau Riesling trocken. High acidity on midpalate, knife-edge minerality, very insubstantial fruit; pleasant persistent finish. Not bad at all. 12,90€ /75cl. 84(-85)P (2251 views)

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)

Rheingau

VDP Rheingau (Official site) | The Rheingau (Wines of Germany) | Wikipedia about The Rheingau
On weinlagen.info

The small but fine wine-growing area Rheingau offers one for the culture of the vine ideal microclimate and best soil conditions. The Rhine runs uninterruptedly almost one thousand kilometres from Basel up to its muzzle into the North Sea, in a northerly direction. With a short exception - the Rheingau. The Rheingau mountains force the river to a change in direction here. The vineyards falling in this region to the south stretch really to the sun. The king of the white wines, the Riesling, finds ideal local conditions for the unfolding of his fine fruity and elegant type of vine character on the multilayered weathering grounds with loess, loam and sand additions.
