Tasted by Mark1npt on 5/27/2023 & rated 92 points: Haven't had one of these '18s in quite a while. Our starter for this evening. Identical bottle to my note from 2019. Same score, too. (1509 views)
Tasted by gcatloth on 3/13/2023 & rated 92 points: Balanced wine; decent acidity with a round texture. This wine could go on for years more. (744 views)
Tasted by WineGuyFL on 5/18/2022 & rated 88 points: Earlier bottles of this one were very good. This bottle was awful compared to the others. The bottles have been well stored......so, do not know what happened. Others do not seem to be having this experience. (1487 views)
Tasted by WineGuyFL on 4/7/2022 & rated 92 points: I have really enjoyed earlier bottles of this wine. This one was good...had the signature "different" taste notes.....but perhaps just a little off from prior bottles. I have had 2022 as the last year of the drink window and am inclined to continue with that plan. (1498 views)
Tasted by wineismylife on 3/31/2022 & rated 93 points: WIML93

Tasted non blind.

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of yellow pear, yellow apple, cinnamon and lemon curd. Flavors of lemon zest, yellow pears and green apples. Medium to bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold. (1610 views)
Tasted by Mid Palate Tingle on 2/6/2022: A lot of struck match reductive character on the nose. Not a negative for me at all.
Palate is fresh, plenty of acidity. Nicely integrated yellow and white fruit. Zestiness providing lift too.
Very nice. (1470 views)
Tasted by gmbdds on 8/19/2021 & rated 91 points: Pale and fresh (some RH chards seem to get some oxidative character somewhat young). Good balance between soft, rich fruit and acid and body. A less spicy profile than some vintages. (2055 views)
Tasted by WineGuyFL on 5/30/2021 & rated 93 points: White fruits offset by a nice crispness. Very good and a great value. (1655 views)
Tasted by heythatslife on 10/11/2020 & rated 90 points: No mistaking it for anything other than a new world chardonnay, with lots of glorious tropical fruit, but pretty well-balanced. (2346 views)
Tasted by snowstrm on 7/28/2020 & rated 92 points: Pear and pineapple on the nose. Very fresh, crisp and minerally chard, which I absolutely love. Elegant, intense, with pear and citrus fruit and great balance. (2439 views)
Tasted by Chimer on 7/8/2020 & rated 93 points: On great form, lovely balance of richness and energy, opened up over the course of the evening, feels like it could age extremely well for at least a decade (2482 views)
Tasted by Vince_chip on 7/2/2020 & rated 95 points: Sublime, dans le top chardo! Vraiment un bel équilibre. Attaque sur la lime, milieux de bouche sur le pain, le beurre, ananas. En finale, fruits à noyaux.
Vin multidimensionnel, long et savoureux. Le top! (2319 views)
Tasted by eoinhharkins on 7/2/2020 & rated 92 points: This is very hard to beat for the price in terms of Chardonnay, nose has citrus and orchard fruits, saline notes and some powdered minerals, plate is clean and crisp, medium body, medium plus acidity and a mineral filled finish (2020 views)
Tasted by philmtl on 6/21/2020: Bien. RQP discutable. (1629 views)
Tasted by Wylie_coyoti on 4/22/2020 & rated 91 points: A clean golden yellow. Scents of topical fruits like starfruit and pineapple, some yellow delicious apples, a hint of petrol and a slight creaminess from the oak. Nice entry and a medium full body mid palate. It has a very good balance of fruit and acidity, exhibiting citrus rind, crushed stone and a long clean finish carried on by the acidity. (1646 views)
Tasted by rjm on 4/18/2020 & rated 88 points: Shows promise, but needs to sit for a while. Agree with prior comments. (1434 views)
Tasted by Vince_chip on 3/28/2020 & rated 94 points: Mélange d’exotisme avec des saveurs d’ananas et de noix de coco. Boisé très bien maîtrisé, belle longueur et un beau gras. Aucun excès, tout est bon. (1523 views)
Tasted by Mid Palate Tingle on 2/14/2020: 1st of 6. I don't get the comments suggesting to drink this cold. Straight from the fridge made it hollow and disjointed but with air and warmth it started to open up. For me, still too young but there's some lovely yellow fruits and an acid drive that keeps me optimistic for the future. Revisit 2021? (1524 views)
Tasted by Millennial Drinkers on 1/3/2020 & rated 93 points: Medium greenish yellow. Complex nose with straw, touch of butter, rich stone fruits and some citrus. Medium plus acidity (7/10) with a medium body. Well rounded palate with lemon curd, honeysuckle and white gravel. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2026. (1781 views)
Tasted by Kim Gerner on 10/31/2019 & rated 89 points: 4 white chardonnays around the world tasted against each other (H.J.Hansen (kg arr.)): Hamilton Russell, South Africa '18 (89/100, Burgundy-like wine, but too bitter on the palate - unfortunately I have found that on recent vintages)
Dalrymple Vineyards Caveblock, Tasmania '16 (93/100, the evening's winner, cool climate chardonnay, Burgundy style (just a little richer), excellent wine at an extremely reasonable price)
Paul Lato Wines Belle De Jour, Santa Rita Hills '16 (85/100, former California style which means way to much oak)
Joseph Drouhin 1. cru, La Folatieres, Puligny-Montrachet '17 (91/100, Excellent wine, By far the most expensive of the 4 wines but not as good as Dalrymple (1/3 of the price) at the moment, too young) (1268 views)
Tasted by Double-A on 10/2/2019 & rated 93 points: Toast, butter, citrus/apple, smoke, spearmint, and mineral nose. Very good flavour, structure and balance; distinct replays, long finish.
4.5/5 (1892 views)
Tasted by Mark1npt on 9/29/2019 & rated 92 points: Unlike many Cali chards which we enjoy at room temp, this SA version really requires chilling to achieve maximum benefit. This is a very unique wine. It's not like a typical creamy oaky Cali chard, nor is it like the many stainless versions either. It has wonderful fruit a mix of orchard type (pear) and tropicals, too. It has clarity and balance and elegant structure. I did not appreciate this as much during my trip to SA earlier this year. I am very happy to have found it here in the States. (2931 views)
Tasted by guitarguy on 9/28/2019 & rated 92 points: At the new Peli Peli in The Woodlands. Overpriced for sure at $74 but that 2.5-3X markup is pretty standard around here, particularly because Texass doesn’t allow corkage at restaurants with full liquor licenses, a way to protect those distillers for sure. Still yet, it was a very good wine, light oak in the nose with hints of vanilla and poured out molasses. A very nice acidic lift, sort of Chablis-like, with ripe orange-lemon flavors and a clean, tart finish. Maybe a nod to the Chenin heritage in SA, and some length in the finish. Hate the restaurant price, happy with the wine. (1499 views)
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 8/2/2019: Again, a more elegant vintage (tree fruit and stone fruit) than tropically fruited. Has some creamy oak to the nose. Nothing too clove-y. Very nice and balanced vintage, but not the POW of previous vintages. (1659 views)
Tasted by chatters on 7/22/2019: Airoldi Fine Wines Winter Tasting (Oak Barrel, Elizabeth Street, Sydney): Rich, butter, stone fruit with a citric underpin, sweet spice. Served at room temperature which lends a little alcohol heat on the finish otherwise its sweet spice and ripe fruit. (1696 views)
