Tasted by footloosiety on 3/9/2024 & rated 92 points: We haven't had side-by side with other more well known big BC reds (Osoyoos Larose Le Grand Vin, Painted Rock Icon, etc.) but from occasional tasting memory I think this is on the same level. (122 views)
Tasted by Tlkemp57@yahoo.com on 12/25/2023 & rated 90 points: Very soft, smooth and round with some fruit and a little chocolate. Drink now or wait 5+ yrs and take a chance. (185 views)

Tasted by Canoehead on 12/12/2021: 2015 Meritage & Bordeaux Reds; 12/12/2021-12/13/2021 (Canoehead Central): Double decanted with approx 4 hours in the decanter. Silky purple with garnet rim. Pronounced nose of savoury dark red fruit and some sage and mint. A bit of alcohol on the nose. Medium plus body with transitioning fruit fighting it out with elements of olive and tobacco. Grippy tannins. Medium plus finish. This is built for some aging. A couple of CTers at the blind tasting indicated this as their least favourite of the ten Meritage/Bordeaux being assessed.  Tasted by Rcmchow on 11/29/2021: 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 19% Malbec 14% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot (554 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.
