(233 views) | | Tasted by AllRed on 12/31/2021 & rated 88 points: Lots of spice and mixed fruit. Soft tannins. Simple, but nice. (820 views) | | Tasted by lpettet on 10/29/2021 & rated 88 points: Ok first day. Good second. (742 views) | | Tasted by jepyle on 5/3/2021 & rated 89 points: smooth and fruity with a nice finish. Vina Robles is one of my favorite vineyards. Whenever I am in Paso I always stop there and pick up some of their really good stuff that they don't distribute. (1073 views) | | Tasted by yatchisin on 4/13/2021 & rated 88 points: Solid midweek cab with lots of chewy tannins, dark berry fruit, and oak. (1027 views) | | Tasted by Nati Winos on 1/31/2021: Better than anything at The Olive Garden or Ruby Tuesday. Not bad for $20. It grew on us a little bit but dont see getting again. (1135 views) | | Tasted by sdwineguru on 1/8/2021 & rated 90 points: $16 Paso Robles, Calif. Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 Viña Robles. Sharp mid-dark garnet; berries, red fruit, ripe grapes, jam, hint of wood (20 months French, American, Hungarian oak); mid-body; mid-plus tannins; berry and wood on the palate; long semi-hot (14.0 alc.) fruity finish. w/casserole. 16 UC Davis scale, 90 other scales. (814 views) | | Tasted by ElJefeTX on 12/28/2020 & rated 90 points: Bold, yet smooth and savory. Showing black plum, blueberry, vanilla spice, cedar and cocoa nibs. Rich mouthfeel with slightly chewy tannins and a dry finish. (745 views) | | Tasted by jusjeremy on 11/19/2020 & rated 92 points: Silky, smooth, chewy, jammy, dark fruit (594 views) | | Tasted by DaveNC on 10/6/2020 & rated 90 points: Dark fruit, dark chocolate, sharp tannins. Out of balance IMO. Not sure if time will balance (either aging or decanting). Still, for $20 not a bad daily. (771 views) | | Tasted by jimmysprague on 10/3/2020: Good. Ate with pizza - olives, pepperoni and jalapeños. Order more. (533 views) | | Tasted by tjtrot on 9/23/2020 & rated 88 points: Spicy chocolate bouquet; chocolate, dark berry on the palate; medium bodied with pronounced tannic back bone; sharp long finish; needs 8+ hours air. May need + 3 years additional age' (619 views) | | Tasted by bwillia on 8/19/2020 & rated 88 points: Painfully dry at this point. I’m not sensing a lot of balance of strength of fruit to outlast the tannins. Time will tell. (713 views) | | Tasted by RedZinNut on 8/12/2020 & rated 84 points: Didn't taste as good as the one I had in a restaurant. (621 views) | | Tasted by RLVas on 4/23/2020 & rated 88 points: Decent for the price. Good basic Paso cab. Would have been a good value around $15 but at $20 I’ll keep trying others. Not offensive, but also not memorable. If you want a cab basic cab this may suffice. It was better on day 3. (1055 views) | | Tasted by Joevick1 on 4/7/2020 & rated 89 points: Great QPR (1014 views) | | Tasted by corkscrews on 4/4/2020 & rated 89 points: A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Cab with blackberry, black cherry, some cocoa and spice on finish, a good value. www.winelx.com (900 views) | | Tasted by bluehorseshoe on 3/12/2020 & rated 90 points: Average wine on night one. 87 point cab. Different wine on night two. The wine developed weight and richness with 24 hours rest. Used a vacu-vin to pull out the air and refrigerated overnight. Good value at $16. | Vina Robles Producer websiteCabernet SauvignonCabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.
Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet SauvignonUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
