| Community Tasting Notes (average 88.9 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 22 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by samiamx_1999 on 10/8/2023 & rated 89 points: Little CO2. (365 views) | | Tasted by talid on 3/4/2023 & rated 94 points: Powerful wine. Bracing acidity, which might be perceived as fizziness as some have noted (but no actual fizziness in this bottle), medium tannins. Started out on the fruity side (40 min decant) and kept opening up over the next hour. Later notes included oak, plum, darker fruits, and some kind of savory spice (ancho pepper??). Amazing concentration overall. (566 views) | | Tasted by larrybbaldwin on 11/21/2022 & rated 90 points: Fruitcake in a class. Christmas port without sugar. Luxurious, warming, overblown but enticing. Not for the table but by the fire after a beautiful meal. (773 views) | | Tasted by Tutterers on 6/25/2022 & rated 80 points: Very fizzy - tasted like a Lambrusco when we opened it. Gave it some time and it didn't get better. We'll report back on the second bottle... (981 views) | | Tasted by jwebtx on 4/10/2022: PNP- hint of effervescence and odd smell.
Decant, back into the bottle with 2 vigorous Molly Dooker shakes, and 3 hours worked wonders. Still not my thing with bright red fruit, spice, and a sense of heat. Better on day 2, but still heady stuff. (1087 views) | | Tasted by Goofienewfy on 3/6/2022 & rated 55 points: Let down by the 2018. Too much fizz and the nose smells off. Balance off on this one. Hope this is an off year. (938 views) | | Tasted by Malualua on 12/31/2021: Not impressed. Too fizzy. Not a good first taste. Almost tastes carbonated (778 views) | | Tasted by losososjoe on 12/18/2021 & rated 89 points: Not sure about this one. It's OK, but not the usual problem child I am used to which is a PnP. I got some fizziness and high alcohol whiff after opening. This one may need to wait year longer. Even after resting a day, it still was not up to par in my opinion. (679 views) | | Tasted by xboomer on 11/30/2021 & rated 93 points: Fabulous Zin. A very floral nose. Solid body. I am buying more. (554 views) | | Tasted by jonahfactor on 10/5/2021: Mission Ranch dinner with K&E. Luscious, with dark fruits, apricot, lavender and cigar ash. Very textured with a slender vein of acid balancing the fruit and keeping it from going over the top. The Zin (70%) is center stage. Opens in the glass over two hours, suggesting this still has plenty of life left. Drink now to 2028. Worth Seeking Out. (529 views) | | Tasted by Lee Fining on 9/25/2020 & rated 92 points: Medium dark garnet red. Moderate cherry/Zin nose. Very enjoyable fruit flavors with a touch of pepper. Good mouth feel. (1280 views) | | Tasted by EM_MB on 8/31/2020 & rated 90 points: Textbook Zin; just the right amount of sweetness. (1010 views) | | Tasted by gigemags on 5/15/2020 & rated 91 points: First time drinker of this one. Beautiful purple color. Flinty nose with some blackberry. First impression is a cherry flavor with a rich mouthfeel. Full body. I like it. (1074 views) |

... a family-owned and operated winery, focused on the production of unique and exceptional, hand-crafted wines. Our name, Linne Calodo, describes the distinctive limestone soils of the west side of Paso Robles where our vineyards are located. We are proud to be creating unfined and unfiltered wines balanced through the blending of Rhone and Zinfandel varietals.USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
