A little bit of grassiness without being underripe, faint tropical fruits, good crisp acidity that could be a little brighter but still works just fine. Typical and predictable, I enjoyed it, but I feel like spending just a few extra bucks on one of these can get you so much more. Funky, black pepper, pastrami cured meat brine, salt, bay, mustard —granted I had just smelled this half hour before
Wet dried Mexican oregano or creosote
Medium acidity, light body, dry
Long at first but that faded Upper back palate finish
Jalapeno, musk melon skin, tomato stalk, dried oregano/thyme/epazote
After 2nd glass, was bored of it (541 views) | | Tasted by Nfmds on 12/7/2021 & rated 88 points: Very tropical, typical of Marlborough SB. Pineapple, papaya, melon. Nice acidity (596 views) | | Tasted by flydcjets on 7/10/2021: Not our fave (712 views) | | Tasted by Hodderbk on 10/24/2020 & rated 89 points: Notes of grass and hay, racy mineralality. (1178 views) | | Tasted by gharter on 10/24/2020 & rated 86 points: Green apple, lemon, grapefruit and some grassiness. Nice acidity. Enjoyable. (1370 views) | | Tasted by wineshaman on 9/29/2020 & rated 88 points: Typical NZ SB, tropical, firm acidity, some notes of grass adding a bit of much need complexity. (1003 views) | | Tasted by Malcwino on 8/8/2020 & rated 80 points: Light body, some mineral, good acidity, refreshing but lacking character or flavour, have had better (805 views) | | Tasted by cuffthis on 8/7/2020 & rated 86 points: Pale straw in color, this wine reveals muted gooseberry and hints of white flowers. The mouth feel is medium bodied with brisk acidity. The finish is short with cut grass elements. 12.5% abv.
Purchased for $10US, this is a typical NZ SB fruit forward, aromatic offering. It drinks well for its modest price point.
Imported by Constellation Imports, Acampo, CA. (400 views) | | Tasted by seijaro on 7/30/2020 & rated 82 points: A pleasant drink with very little flavor at all. Can't see the attraction here, even at $10. Didn't finish it, poured it out... don't need empty calories. I'd far rather spend another $2 for Villa Marie and get some enjoyable flavor. (650 views) | | Tasted by Winenot2020? on 5/30/2020: Light summer white (371 views) | | Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 3/29/2020 & rated 84 points: Pale yellow/green, fresh and fruity, this is a serviceable white that offers gooseberry, lime, passion fruit and dried herb aromas and flavors. Light-bodied, unoaked and without detectable alcohol (listed as 12.5%), it retains a good presence on the mid-palate and concludes with a crisp finish that is medium in length. There is nothing technically wrong here, but there are better versions of this grape to be found for comparable coin. Drink now-2021. (625 views) | | Tasted by VinoMomNola on 6/27/2019 & rated 86 points: Pale lemon, no viscosity. Nose: lemon, grapefruit, blood orange, hint of pear. Palate: sweet grass, wet grass, medium+ acidity, medium body, bit on salty side, bit tangy on tongue, could be more flavorful, (135 views) |
