Tasted by Endodr on 3/17/2023 & rated 88 points: The cork came out in pieces, but the wine smelled snd tasted fine. Deep purple in color with a nose of black fruit snd earth. Very fruity with aromas snd tastes of black berries, black cherries, chocolate, pepper, and tobacco. Lots of heat from alcohol but this resolved with time in the decanter. It is not the most balanced wine, but it is soft and drinkable. Enjoyable and satisfying, but not a serious wine. (734 views)
Tasted by 2 Utes on 11/24/2022 & rated 92 points: This bottle is on the downhill side of its sweet spot. A little decant and it brings it back to life. Drink this baby up if you have it or you will just end up changing the diapers. Who wants to do that? (848 views)
Tasted by Kustjagr on 7/31/2022 & rated 92 points: Anyone making a Syrah, Petit Syrah and Grenache blend in California deserves respect. I would not call this a cult wine, save maybe for the etiquettes (labels). Too much alcohol, though some minerals still shine through. A really strong wine, but falls short on character. Good, not great. NOTE: after a 3 hour decant, the alcohol is less jumpy. Otherwise, not much improved. (1182 views)
Tasted by btwine on 12/4/2021 & rated 93 points: I’m not usually a syrah/petite sirah fan but this is delicious and in its prime. Well balanced, tannins just right, nice acid complement. Rich flavors including black pepper, cinnamon candy, black currant. A bit syrupy else I would have scored it higher. Likely only has another year or two in the tank. (1877 views)
Tasted by mayroth on 3/12/2021 & rated 86 points: I really disliked this wine. Way too much alcohol (2043 views)
Tasted by Chefcar on 12/30/2020 & rated 92 points: Lovely, dark, brooding and inky which is because of the petite sirah with dark cherry and blackberry up front. Followed by some earthiness, leather and a hint of pepper. The 2013 is drinking well now, and probably has a couple more years. I somehow managed to finish off the bottle in one night! (1945 views)
Tasted by taylorwfu on 7/20/2019 & rated 92 points: Wine has become a lot less jammy and more subtle with the age. Fair amount of sediment in the bottle after pouring. Totally different experience from earlier drinkings of the same vintage. (3198 views)
Tasted by fredfta on 7/1/2019 & rated 93 points: Garrafa comprada em 2015 no Los Olivos Café (Santa Ynez Valley), cenário do célebre filme Sideways.

(2817 views)
Tasted by pgrzesik on 4/30/2019 & rated 89 points: Nice red blend interpretation from Orin Swift. This wine pours a purple color - hinting to the petite sirah in the blend. On the nose, quite strong and overwhelming alcohol, but with the some time other expressive notes such as cigar box, dark fruits, and hints of leather emanated, though still very hot.

The palate is rich, very fruit forward, and unsurprisingly packs a punch with the alcohol. Rather short finish, but pleasant drinker. Don't think this has the stuff for long term aging, drink up soon otherwise will be an alcoholic mess. (2490 views)
Tasted by Ddebehnk on 4/21/2019: Very smooth nice red blend. Had with ham. (2116 views)

Tasted by BSBONO on 11/6/2018 & rated 92 points: Great change of pace from our normal Napa cabs. Stood up beautifully to a spicy chicken dish. Will seek out more (1620 views)
Tasted by Gibbman on 5/27/2018 & rated 89 points: REDFISHER's review is spot on. I did enjoy this wine quite a bit but agree that some may not care for this style of wine. (2195 views)

Tasted by Go4it70 on 8/16/2017 & rated 92 points: still young (3398 views)
Tasted by wineguy75 on 8/4/2017 & rated 85 points: Worst bottle of wine I've had in a long time. Alcohol present, jammy, bitter. (3259 views)
Tasted by Redfisher on 6/25/2017 & rated 89 points: A very bold and powerful wine with lots of flavor, probably not universally appealing. Color is virtually opaque dark and inky Ruby colored. Paired with cheeses of the same type they will mix. It will overpower milder cheese. Good acidity and tannins and a long finish , but not well balanced with fruit. Spicy and Dark flavors dominate. Decent wine in the right setting and with the right food. A little pricey. (3213 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 5/31/2017 & rated 91 points: A nose of brooding dark fruit and spice, dark black purple in color. A big full bodied red blend, with blackberry, plum, vanilla and spice on long finish. I believe its still too young to drink, or needs a very long decant, one of those wines you love or hate. www.winelx.com (2758 views)
Tasted by JHeinie on 1/13/2017 & rated 94 points: Decanted for 2 hours
Smoky and spices on the nose.
Big, accessable, heavy extraction. Over the top jammy. Some dark fruits some tartness and maybe a hint of menthol and a nice long finish that has smoke, tannins, and vanilla. Nice complexity as the layers walk across your palette.

Highly recommended and a nice QPR at ~$45. (3389 views)

Tasted by Iscynical on 11/4/2016 & rated 89 points: Jammy (2962 views)
Tasted by cubswinws on 10/31/2016 & rated 90 points: Seemed appropriate for Halloween (2593 views)
Tasted by hdchappy on 8/24/2016 & rated 86 points: Borderline cough syrup (2884 views)
Tasted by whits on 5/6/2016 & rated 92 points: This is black, jammy berry nose, smooth, deep, concentrated, dark, smokey berry, cocoa, dried cherry and dark chocolate bark, a dark character, delicious, packed with flavor but not as hot as the alcohol suggests, perfect with a cheesy sausage lasagna (3293 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
