| Community Tasting Notes (average 93.7 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 3 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Rbhan12 on 10/23/2022 & rated 91 points: PnP, followed for 2 hours. The note giving this 100 points is clearly an error. 50% grenache, 35% syrah, 15% mourvedre.
Nose of dark fruit brambling over leather and graphite. Subtle bacon fat but the richness of the nose is telltale. Palate is medium-full bodied, gentle acid, subtle and elegant glycerin, and tannins that are well hidden but actually rather robust. There is purple fruit and menthol that shows in a supple fashion. Finish shows black olives, blue fruit, tobacco leaf, dried herbs, and rocky chalky tannic structure.
Drinking well now. Fleshy and chewy so it has the bones to last another 5-7 years in the cellar. Great value at $30ish. (1271 views) | | Tasted by Raywilliams420 on 1/24/2022 & rated 100 points: Succulent. Nose is soft n subtle as the wine opened. Intially had notes of fruit and strong notes of earth. As hours past the nose became more earthy. There are tannins but they are fairly soft it definitely there. Finish is long but not as put together as I would like but then again I tend to like earthy wines. It’s very dry but still somewhat moist which doesn’t make much sense. Would love to age this a few years an see what it becomes. Would buy again for the price. Paid about 35 dollars usd. U.S. Importer (add'l info)Red Rhone Blend Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.
A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
