Schon von Anfang an ganz gute Präsenz, Felsig, viel Mineral, dunkle Kirschen, mal sehen was an der Luft passiert. (103 views) | | Tasted by Schönibert on 5/7/2023 & rated 92 points: Fuck hier geht die Post ab, Nase ändert sich permanent, Leder, schwarzer Pfeffer, öliger Lappen, Rosmarin, Schokolade, Chili-Punch, am Gaumen dann zunächst frische Säure, nicht so fett wie erwartet, auch vielschichtig, nicht sehr lang. Derzeit Nase klar vorne. Erstmal 92, abwarten. Funky (321 views) | | Tasted by Godboma on 1/1/2023 & rated 91 points: Very nice wine served with prime rib roast. On the palette, black fruits, a little bit of spices, tannins are there but nice with the meat. Good length at the end. (437 views) | | Tasted by maxima on 5/24/2022 & rated 89 points: Ample et assez intense. Mures et épices avec pas mal de salinité. La finale est de longueur moyenne et sur les minéraux. (1001 views) | | Tasted by FjordogFjell on 5/14/2022 & rated 91 points: Smakt på vinmesse. Fløyel, sødmefull, rik 400 NOK (617 views) | | Tasted by Matswen on 11/6/2021 & rated 90 points: frukt, kryddigt, bra balans (638 views) | | Tasted by Jeff Leve on 2/23/2021 & rated 90 points: Medium-bodied, tart, fresh and crisp, the piquant red berries are as lively as they are tannic and bright. The finish is quite stony. This is not a fun wine to enjoy young. So age it for at least 5-8 years. (1600 views) |

Note that some producers in the Northern Rhone distinguish between simply Syrah and "Serine", the latter described as ‘an ancient clone of Syrah, the berries of which are more oval-shaped and less deeply pigmented than Syrah’ by producer Tardieu-Laurent. The Rhône Valley/Le Vins de la Vallée du Rhône (Comité Interprofession des vins AOC Côtes et vallée du Rhône)
Regional History: Phocaean Greeks established viticulture in the Rhone as far back as 600 BC, but until the 14th century the wines were not seen outside the region. The establishment of the Avignonese Papacy (1305-1377) brought fame to the region's wine-so much so that their Burgundian neighbors to the north banned wines from the Rhone in 1446, a measure that effectively cut off trade with England and other Northern European markets for over 200 years. Stretching southward from Lyon to just south of Avignon, the Rhone produces a wide variety of wines, with the appellations north of Valence producing the least (in volume), and the towns south of Montelimar producing prodigious amounts. As in other regions, the most interesting wines come from small farms. Saint-Joseph, in the northern Rhone, extends for some distance between Condrieu in the north to Saint-Peray in the south. The reds are made from Syrah and the rare whites from Marsanne and Roussanne, and Viognier.
