Tasted by BeauKnowsWine on 4/26/2024: Gift for the Billadeau’s (71 views)
Tasted by Hrv123 on 3/31/2024 & rated 92 points: Decanted 3 hrs. Dark fruit with almost fully integrated tannins and nice acidity. Lacked some depth of fruit and finish was a bit short which prevented a higher score. (106 views)
Tasted by Slambs on 12/18/2023 & rated 91 points: Great without decanting. Slight fruit forward but not jammy. (344 views)
Tasted by Cablover1982 on 4/5/2022 & rated 93 points: Deep dark purple. Love the aromas of blackberry pie, toasted oak, charred plums, tobacco, river rock and vanilla bean. Palate however doesn’t fully match the beauty of the nose. Dark fruits with hints of mocha. I’m at a 3 hour decant and it’s slowly getting there but this baby will need few more years to integrate. Puckering acidity, powdery tannins and good length on finish. I’m a 93 now but that can definitely improve with time. Cheers all 🍷🍷 (1880 views)
Tasted by jimyeni on 2/27/2022 & rated 93 points: Open with fruit notes on the nose and a vibrant palate. Quite enjoyable (1436 views)
Tasted by franinnyc on 11/30/2021 & rated 92 points: Terrific. Will be getting more. (1536 views)
Tasted by Thek on 2/14/2021 & rated 95 points: really exceptional cab for under $100. big black and blue fruit, very well balanced. highly recommend!! (2398 views)
Tasted by SonnyJay on 1/15/2021: Was concerned about opening this so young, but it's already showing really well. There's the big black fruit you'd expect, but with excellent acidity and tannins that are very fine and well integrated already. (1991 views)
Tasted by jimyeni on 11/3/2020 & rated 93 points: Napa trip November 2020; 10/31/2020-11/14/2020 (Napa, CA): Very nice. Juicy through the middle. Drinkable now despite its youth. Expect it to get better as it integrates. (1863 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
