Tasted by cfk49 on 5/4/2024 & rated 91 points: Delightful to follow as it unfolds over three hours. Silk texture, medium-light body, red currant fruit, good intensity and length. Cellared since original release. (55 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 3/24/2024 & rated 91 points: Just another beautiful bottle. Decanted for about an hour before serving. Pure, precise raspberry and red cherry in a light body with a smooth texture. Not it's not a Barolo, and it's not trying to be. Cellared since original release. (186 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 3/7/2024 & rated 91 points: Sort of grumpy the first night opened, but showing beautifully the next night with roses, a silk texture, and some red cherries. Cellared since original release. (252 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 12/6/2023 & rated 91 points: Dark chocolate with cherries, light on palate -- a very Burgundian structure. Cellared since original releaswe. (355 views)
Tasted by Dj6544 on 11/5/2023 & rated 92 points: This is a brilliant Langhe Nebbiolo, maybe one of the best I’ve had. Dark, charcoal-y, firm but with some punchy savoury fruit and an approachable bite, this is very, very well done. This is well worth the entry price even though it does rub shoulders with the less expensive barolos, with whom it genuinely competes. Great buy 92 (366 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 7/9/2023 & rated 90 points: Light and pure with roses and cherry fruit. It's not going to challenge a Barolo for structure or depth, but it's delightful for what it is. Cellared since original release. (534 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 2/12/2023 & rated 89 points: Similar to previous two bottles, but closing a little, now needs 4-5 hours in a decanter. Cellared since original release. (589 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 12/28/2022 & rated 90 points: Same as wine drunk two weeks previous. An excellent cellar-defender. (639 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 12/13/2022 & rated 90 points: Drinking deliciously with spiced red fruits in the nose and mouth, a medium-light body, and round tannins. (570 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 12/2/2022 & rated 90 points: Needs some airing but then shows really well -- better than two previous bottles with plenty of red fruits, silky texture, and a touch of chocolate. (558 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 11/21/2022 & rated 88 points: Similar to earlier bottle with a bit more stuffing. But good upside potential. (476 views)
Tasted by cfk49 on 7/12/2022 & rated 87 points: Medium-light and simple today with red cherry fruit. Has shown better on an earlier occasion. Cellared since original release. (514 views)
Tasted by bmwm3owner on 1/23/2022: Love this wine. Second bottle that we consumed (602 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 8/14/2021: Such delicious and highly-perfumed red fruits. There are plenty of rose petal notes too. It has good depth and savoury nuance. Balance is impeccable and structural elements are supportive without intruding. Lovely wine. (941 views)
Tasted by pink_flips on 3/29/2021 & rated 89 points: Great red. Berry, slight smoke. The nose is divine red juicy. Definitely let it decant for a bit. It’s too quick before it sits out. (841 views)
Tasted by CarlssonsWine on 1/11/2021 & rated 87 points: After decanting this wine opens up beutiful. (942 views)

Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.

Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.

"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.

Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
