| Community Tasting Notes (average 82.9 pts. and median of 83 pts. in 11 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by benjiz on 3/11/2023 & rated 80 points: Oak, lemon, orange peel. Slightly sweet entry, bland and overoaked on the palate. (440 views) | | Tasted by ikkaariainen on 8/17/2022 & rated 87 points: Recommend for what it is - a reasonably well made stereotypical entry level CA chardonnay. Reasonable QPR. Clear yellow with present but balanced oak and butter - the slightly slick buttery mouth feel is present. Drink or hold - not really made for the long haul but with proper cellaring this has several years to go with expected softening and integration and this might increase the score by 1-2 points. Nose warm and buttery with banana and mango. Flavor profile of controlled oak and butter through out with yellow apple, pear and cantaloupe. There are many similar level CA chardonnays out there that are more intensely oaked and buttered. (779 views) | | Tasted by Kaaslund on 7/17/2022 & rated 76 points: Sweet, over-oaked. Horrible. Straight in the sink. (775 views) | | Tasted by Patioman on 7/23/2021 & rated 80 points: Wonderful with a cheese spread (1304 views) | | Tasted by Radio777 on 3/14/2021 & rated 83 points: Drinkable but bland (1383 views) | | Tasted by Nothingdeclared on 2/13/2021 & rated 83 points: I hope his private collection actually has better wine than this.🥂 (1137 views) | | Tasted by Brent211 on 9/1/2020 & rated 84 points: Smooth and creamy mouth feel. Producer websiteChardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson CaliforniaNapa Valley.http://www.stagecoachvineyard.com/vineyards/our_vineyards.php Santa Ynez.http://www.everyvine.com/org/Camp_Four/vineyard/Camp_Four/ |
