Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 90.7 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 3 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by LimitingFactor on 12/31/2022 & rated 90 points: Shared this bottle with great friends on NYE 2022. 90 minute decant. Delicate, feminine, and reserved. Pleasant yet elusive on the nose. Subtle red fruit, dry and smooth. This wine was present without stealing the show. (349 views)
Tasted by rbfoote on 9/5/2022 & rated 92 points: Bouquet of damp earth and forest. Flavours of red fruit - cranberry and cherry - quite punchy up front. Followed by slate and minerals. Tannins quite pronounced still at this point so keep in cellar for a while. Should be nice in a few years. Will update this note after wine has been open for a while.

Update - fruit notes definitely softened. Had this with paella. A nice pairing although the food made the tannins more pronounced. (448 views)

Beiras

To the south of both Minho and Trás-os-Montes lies the region of Beiras, stretching the full width of Portugal. Beiras is home to the more well-known DOCs of Bairrada and Dão, along with the less well-known DOCs of Távora-Varosa in the north, butting up to the Douro region, Lafões in the north west, meeting the southernmost part of the Minho region, and the large DOC Beira Interior in the north east and the south east of Beiras. Bairrada lies to the west of the region, though it doesn’t reach the coast, while Dão occupies the central part of the region.
