Tasted by Anders Danielsen Lie on 4/9/2024 & rated 88 points: Grønn og umoden hvit bordeaux med 65% sauvignon. Litt i dyreste laget (536 views)
Tasted by casaallora on 3/30/2024 & rated 94 points: I have been fortunate to have experienced this wine for over 30 years with continued enjoyment. The mark of a good Chateau is producing consistently pleasing wines & this Chateau meets that goal exceptionally well. This wine opens with an impressive nose of white flowers w/soft nectarine aroma. Flavor of soft muted lemon peel, light apricots and soft peaches. Soft balanced lingering finish. A great compliment to Tomme Noire des Pyrenees cheese plate & Chicken al Limone. (425 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 3/9/2024 & rated 93 points: Honeysuckle, grapefruits, lemon, green apples, spice and white peaches come through with ease in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is zesty, citrusy, brisk and racy with ranges, pineapples, sea salt, and crushed stones that linger in the finish. Drink from 2024-2034. (843 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 3/4/2024 & rated 90 points: Amsterdam UGCB Tasting (Zuiderkerk): Sauvignon dominated, crisp and firm but lacks elegance. (1016 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 3/4/2024 & rated 91 points: UGCB Amsterdam, walkaround tasting so just short notes.: Juicy and fresh acidity. Well dosed oak. (715 views)
Tasted by Madera16 on 3/3/2024: UGC — might’ve been the WOTN. Great balance and precision. (475 views)
Tasted by vvWine.ch on 3/1/2024 & rated 92 points: Helles Gelb.
Tasted by vvWine.ch on 3/1/2024 & rated 92 points: Helles Gelb. (Januar 2024) (464 views)
Tasted by yofog on 1/23/2024: One of the most immediately delicious Carbonnieux I can recall in years, very brightly aromatic and forward, really showing its (imo) Sauv element (with some lime that's really probably the semillon). There's mid-palate concentration, and a good clean, confident finish, this feels all very together and energetic. (495 views)
Tasted by okwine66 on 1/17/2024 & rated 92 points: Not ready yet . Tasted along with 2019. 19 was more aromatic and noble. (449 views)
Tasted by Michael Mackenzie on 1/2/2024: Tasted at UGC Tasting in London 8/11/23.
67% SB, 33% Sem.
Normally a fan, notably the 2020, but this, like several other 2021 dry whites did not have a clean finish. (500 views)
Tasted by okwine66 on 11/12/2023 & rated 94 points: Shy on opening. Lasted a week in a fridge. Much better in couple of days. Fresh and lean. Paired with grilled Korean barbeque marinated chicken but the match in heaven was with white stilton with apricots.
This wine stays as my favorite everyday Bordeaux white at "normal" price. (609 views)
Tasted by castle.rob@gmail.com on 11/11/2023 & rated 90 points: Thumbs up from Tracy (475 views)
Tasted by Willi Vinotti on 11/9/2023 & rated 93 points: Very zesty and balanced Carbonnieux, mineral, good length, on apple, peaches and basil notes. Fantastic poise, linearity and cleanness. Superbe white Bordeaux, no thickness or heady fruits, elegant and structured. Will improve over the coming years. (485 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 10/16/2023 & rated 91 points: Domaine visit. Much lighter than the 2017, fresh, zesty, a bit harmless today. (1041 views)
Tasted by vvWine.ch on 6/20/2022 & rated 92 points: (91-93 vvPunkte) Helles Gelb. Syndicat Viticole de Pessac-Léognan/Dourthe) vvWine.ch (2047 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 5/20/2022 & rated 92 points: Lemon, lime, flowers, green apples and a hint of white peach on the backend with loads of racy-acidity and crisp, sweet, yellow citrus in the creamy finish. Drink from 2023-2031 92-92 (1732 views)

U.S. Importer (Addt'l Info)

It is said that in the 18th century this wine was introduced to the Sultan of Constantinople’s palace because of its clarity and was called “mineral water from Carbonnieux”, thus defying the Islamic law.

Bordeaux Wine Guide

Vins Bordeaux (Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux)

History of Bordeaux

History of 1855 Bordeaux Classification

"2009 is all about ripeness, with wines impressively packed with ripe fruit and high alcohol levels. They are showy, in-your-face, and full of pleasure. The 2010s have the fruit and alcohol levels of the 2009s, but with a compelling freshness on the finish that balances the fruit and provides a perfect sense of structure." - Ben Nelson

"2016 is a landmark vintage in certain spots of Bordeaux and it should be remembered as one of the most inspired campaigns of the last 40-50+ years." -Jon Rimmerman
"The quality of red Bordeaux in 2016 was universally lauded – although the response to the en primeur campaign was muted. Quantity was high too, with the equivalent of 770 million bottles of wine produced. An exceptionally dry summer with cool nights eventually, thanks to mid September rain, resulted in small, thick-skinned, ripe grapes, and the wines are marked by high tannin and acidity, with superb aromatic fragrance." - Jancis Robinson

"2017 was complicated, but there are some excellent wines. Expect plenty of freshness and drinkability from wines that will offer excellent value, and others that will rival 2016 in terms of ripeness and ageability. But they are likely to be the exception not the rule, making careful selection key." - Jane Anson

"In the past, a vintage such as 2022 may have been overripe, raisined and low in acidity but 2022 had a sneaky little reservoir in its back pocket - a near perfect marriage of cool/cold/rain the previous winter and the previous vintage that literally soaked the soils (a key to why 2022 is not 2003...or 1893)." - Jon Rimmerman
