👅 Less pronounced than on the nose! Crescendo acidity - seeems flabby at first but then hits you like a train!
Would strongly reccomend to keep it in the cellar for another couple of years!
HUGE QPR!!! (234 views) | | Tasted by super007 on 11/26/2023 & rated 90 points: Stone fruit, crisp tart apple. Not super tart and sharp, the minerality was nicely balanced against the fruit. Greatly enjoyable (532 views) | | Tasted by vespasian on 11/15/2023 & rated 89 points: There is some class in this wine but its a very subtle expression and at this level I'd like to see more flesh and richness on the palate, coming across as it does very lean and linear. Its an enjoyable glass but it could easily be consumed without much afterthought. Quite short too. I have half the bottle remaining and I hope that an overnight airing might open it up a bit. (425 views) | | Tasted by JLCFan on 10/24/2023 & rated 90 points: Ripe, stone-fruit to bruised apple. Good cut, powerful on the palate, lots of minerality and quite smoky. Delicious, but finish is a bit abrupt. (440 views) | | Tasted by poppacork on 10/7/2023 & rated 90 points: A pale straw colored wine made in the clean and crisp style of Chenin Blanc with notes of slightly unripe orchid fruit and citrus pith. Could be mistaken for a lean Chardonnay, but for a touch of bitterness and extra texture on the finish that sets it apart. Good concentration of flavor relative to the medium-light body. (421 views) | | Tasted by Tudz Drkl on 5/23/2023: Very light lemon gold. Crystal clear. Nose of pixie sticks and pine and lemon. Soft and crisp. Clean finish (558 views) |

HISTORY OF THE DOMAIN
Since 1996, Romain Guiberteau has run a fabulous 14.5 hectare estate south of Saumur. Mainly composed of Cabernet Franc (6 hectares) and Chenin (8.5 hectares), it brilliantly produces 3 red wines and 5 white wines from vines with an average age of 40 years.
Recognized for a very long time for the high quality of its whites, the estate took a major step in 2003 by switching to organic farming: the soils are worked and grassed naturally; and only sulphur, copper and plant decoctions are used in the treatment of the vine.
Thus the reds have gained in finesse and brilliance and today reveal a sophistication and elegance worthy of the Saumur appellation. As for the whites, they have reached a delicacy of aromas like the great whites of Burgundy!Chenin Blanc Varietal character (Appellation America)France Vins de France (Office National Interprofessionnel des Vins ) | Pages Vins, Directory of French Winegrowers | French Wine (Wikipedia)
