Tasted by mxpbuy on 8/9/2022 & rated 93 points: Love the screwcap. Nitrogen blowing off upon twist off of top. Classic Mollydooker. Over the top overripe fruits, slightly candied and jammy. Very smooth. 16% alcohol well hidden. (519 views)
Tasted by PDavisMarble on 11/10/2021 & rated 90 points: All chocolate and currants. This is an in-your-face, high octane wine. Indulgent and enjoyable, however for me it’s something that is too much for a regular habit. (868 views)
Tasted by Ex-Ray on 7/18/2021 & rated 95 points: Still deep and opaque purple-garnet, very viscous, coats the glass. Powerful syrah aromas dominate, with lots of alcohol on the nose. Sweet-spicy black fruit aromas, charred wood. On the palate huge and powerful, very dense black fruits, very long aftertaste. Mature, but will hold several more years.

Tasted by JonnyG on 11/15/2020 & rated 89 points: Sometimes its good to pull one of these steakhouse fruit bombs and reset one's guardrails. This wine was true to form, with everything showing on steroids: oak, fruit, power and heat. Very much drinkable, just too much, if that makes sense. I almost feel like it needs to come with a warning label: "Beware as a host: not all of your crowd will be prepared for this crowd-pleaser -- consume with moderation". (1359 views)
Tasted by KristianT on 9/26/2020 & rated 90 points: Pitch black. One of the better Mollydooker wines but I will never be a fan. Way to heavy... But that said - it is actually a good wine, bit the 16.5% alcohol shows. Fascinating rather than great. (1097 views)
Tasted by golfhawk on 12/26/2018 & rated 92 points: Very interesting wine that had a freshness to it that was surprising. Could have been the screw top. Don’t see this getting any better. (1758 views)
Tasted by williamswhine on 11/26/2018 & rated 93 points: Deep dark garnet hue. Syrah/cabernet nose-- dark berries, sweet tobacco. Dark berries, long finish, lots of fruit, full bodied. Terrific with or without food. Great on a cold day around a fire. Enjoyed this bottle. (1617 views)
Tasted by Ex-Ray on 9/13/2018 & rated 95 points: Still deep and opaque purple-garnet, very viscous, coats the glass. Powerful syrah aromas dominate, with lots of alcohol on the nose. Sweet-spicy black fruit aromas, charred wood. On the palate huge and powerful, very dense black fruits, very hot from high alcohol. Very long but hot aftertaste. Became a bit cloying after the first glass. All power but little finesse. It hasn't really changed since first released, and I'm not sure it will. This may just be a massive fruit bomb and should be drunk as such.

Tasted by rmcnees on 12/24/2017 & rated 92 points: Consistent with earlier tasting - This unique blend really works with the Cabernet adding breadth and depth to the big black inky purple colored full bodied Shiraz. The result is a powerful full bodied complex wine with concentrated forward chewy tongue coating black berry and black cherry fruits accented by ripe plum and spice, a layer of leather and hints of anise with fine silky tannins on the long finish.

Tasted by gew71walsh on 3/19/2017 & rated 91 points: Much different experience than prior tasting. Black berries and plums on nose and palate. Much more balanced. Still a high alcohol wine, but much better integrated. (2368 views)
Tasted by AnonymousCoward on 1/26/2017 & rated 92 points: Excellent - big fruits: blackberries, plums, blueberries, with vanillin oak. Hides its huge 16% alcohol well. This is a big, big wine. Will not be to everyone's taste, and if with food needs something very robust. (2021 views)
Tasted by G_H on 6/3/2016 & rated 95 points: A Capella - 'E' (Engadin Valley, Switzerland): This blind tasting showed me again that I really prefer the Enchanted Path over the Carnival of Love and do really feel that this one has much more longevity potential.

Caramel black berries, butterscotch, cassis Liquor, Espresso and licorice. very dense opulent and rich. Great length. (2842 views)
Tasted by G_H on 10/24/2015 & rated 94 points: Interestingly I have contradictory notes to other tasters. I loved the wine and felt the alcohol was well integrated, aged nicely with still many years to go (2880 views)
Tasted by gew71walsh on 1/17/2015 & rated 84 points: I found this wine exceedingly hot. The alcohol didn't let any of the fruits come through. Hopefully more time will help. I have not had this issue with other Mollydooker wines (Carnival of Love, Two Left Feet). (2879 views)
Tasted by alohashirt on 1/6/2015 & rated 88 points: I was excited to see this on sale but from the first sniff it was clearly past its best. It was attypically flat- more than drinkable and if I didnt know the wine I wouldnt have thought anything of it. Good but not great - if you have any you should drinkup now (2515 views)
Tasted by Wineson on 6/11/2014 & rated 92 points: Whilst I really enjoyed this wine, I found it to be a little sweet and on-dimensional (3183 views)
Tasted by Chriskrueger on 2/18/2014 & rated 95 points: Decanted - well put together. (3473 views)
Tasted by docscottgs on 11/4/2013: Almost overpowering, right out of the bottle, without any decanting time. Much better the second night, with distinct taste of both cab and shiraz. Bolder than Carnival of Love or other products in their line, but completely enjoyable. (3259 views)

Tasted by okiedocs on 4/18/2013 & rated 95 points: Shared last night on our anniversary outside in the Sonoran desert as the sun was setting. We did the Mollydooker shake twice as recommended and found the wine to be completely enchanting. There is a huge explosion of fruit that is velvety on the mouth and heavy. This gives way to blackberry pie followed by tobacco and pepper. What a wonderful wine, i would look to buy more but my guess is that this juice is gone (3460 views)
Tasted by RandyC on 9/3/2012 & rated 95 points: This was one huge wine with loads of black fruit very concentrated flavors of BlackBerry, plum, cassis and great integration of oak. An excellent wine that is definitely over the top but in a good way. (4072 views)
Tasted by danielbleier on 8/24/2012 & rated 95 points: consistent with notes of 12/19/2010, except that this is a much more mature wine than 2 years ago, pnp work much better. (3724 views)
Tasted by Chris Herron on 7/19/2012: Outstanding. Tasty juice. Good structure. Lots of flavor. (3568 views)
Tasted by lano on 6/17/2012 & rated 91 points: color is black and the nose is frankly massive - dark fruits from across the room. palate is dark fruits and a bit more sweetness than i typically like. it's a big wine for sure, and i don't think this would pair with food aside from a big steak and mushrooms. having said that, it was very nice on its own. it loses points for being too one dimensional. it's a nice dimension, but there's only the one.... Mollydooker

Producer website

Cabernet-Shiraz Blend

A very popular blend in Australia-particularly from South Australia, where the two varietals work well together. The most famous of these would be the Penfolds Bin 389, considered Australia's most cellared wine. In years gone by this was referred to as "Baby Grange" as some of the wine used barrels from the vintage of Grange.

The 2018 Paternus states only McLaren Vale Shiraz (no Cab Sav).
