Tasted by CourtlyDoc on 5/4/2024 & rated 95 points: Very delicious bright and slight acidity, very fine bubbles and a wonderful experience! (81 views)
Tasted by wkasimer on 1/14/2024 & rated 88 points: Compared to champagne, it’s darker, heavier, fruitier, less acidic, less bready. Is it fair to compare all sparklers to champagne? Baked yellow apple and not a lively mousse. Paired nicely with a spicy coconut fish dish. (526 views)
Tasted by Spth115 on 12/22/2023 & rated 93 points: An awesome chard-Pinot blend sparkling wine, dlicious and smooth !
Another awesome wine from the Schramsbeg family! (519 views)
Tasted by Force5 on 11/24/2023: Got this to serve to large non-geek Thanksgiving gathering. I wouldn't have been surprised with diffuse off-dry fruitiness and insufficient acid but this was pretty decent, with good focused acidity and structure, although not a lot of complexity. Pretty decent for low $20s. (654 views)
Tasted by Tesla95 on 10/29/2023: Pretty average (784 views)
Tasted by ziavino on 7/22/2023 & rated 91 points: Excellent QPR, featuring notes of Gala apple, Rainier cherry, Meyer lemon, and brioche throughout. Lively acidity keeps it on point, but there's a softness here that makes it a joy to drink. (1063 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 5/18/2023: Coming back slowly. (1310 views)
Tasted by xyc on 5/16/2023 & rated 92 points: A voluptuous generous sparkler, ripe and tart fruit, well kneaded yeast, softer floral mouthfeel, all in equilibrium, rotating sensory impressions as the earth turns and all's right with the world. One of my top two sparklers on my quest for sparkling - Champagne epiphany. May not appeal to connoisseurs of Brut acid tongueing tarts; I prefer kisses from gentler lips. (1004 views)
Tasted by CourtlyDoc on 5/14/2023 & rated 94 points: We used this bottle today to make a brunch of mimosas and California style eggs Benedict. Superlative, nice long bubbles. (835 views)
Tasted by agsdlswine on 3/16/2023 & rated 88 points: Paired nicely w/fried chicken. (976 views)
Tasted by pjkwinelover on 2/25/2023 & rated 89 points: All around very nice. Nothing really fancy. (836 views)
Tasted by agsdlswine on 11/24/2022 & rated 89 points: Very enjoyable w/pre Thanksgiving dinner appetizers. (1169 views)
Tasted by agsdlswine on 8/7/2022 & rated 89 points: Well made Cali sparkler. (1626 views)
Tasted by agsdlswine on 7/15/2022 & rated 89 points: Pleasant & refreshing outside on a warm evening. (1558 views)
Tasted by Quiller on 7/4/2022 & rated 86 points: No nose to speak of. First taste is a bit tart/bitter; maybe a bit of yeast, but that blows off quickly. Mostly citrus; maybe lime. Not much of a finish; no complexity. Probably would not buy again; better/more interesting sparklers for the same price. (1509 views)
Tasted by lewisrise on 6/24/2022 & rated 89 points: Pale salmon with medium intensity aromas of rose, strawberry , apple, and hazelnuts. The sparkler has high acidity and medium body with flavors of strawberry, apple, pear, brioche. The sparkler has a medium minus finish it is a good wine that should be drunk now with little potential improvement with aging. (1530 views)
Tasted by wabi47 on 6/21/2022 & rated 82 points: round apple, with a slightly saccharine sweetness up front, and not enough briskness. Certainly drinkable, but there are generic $10 bubblies at Trader Joe's that i prefer. Others liked this style more than i did. Best served very cold. (1361 views)
Tasted by gharter on 4/28/2022 & rated 85 points: nice small bubbles, slightly sweet, citrus flavors and aromas. No complexity. Enjoyable, but easily forgettable. (1674 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 4/9/2022 & rated 85 points: Saturday Afternoon Closeout Tasting (Chicago Wine Consulting - Glenview IL): Walk-around tasting. Good weight, slightly sweet, slightly bitter. It's what to expect for the price. (2527 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 2/12/2022 & rated 86 points: Pre Valentine's Tasting (Chicago Wine Consulting - Glenview IL): Walk-around tasting. Good weight, faintly bitter. Good enough at barely over $20. (2132 views)
Tasted by OldHick95 on 9/6/2021 & rated 90 points: This has been rattling around in my wine rack for a couple of years and the extra time has been productive. Baked apple, warmed cinnamon, and ginger but good acidity for freshness. Yelow apple and yeasty finish. Definitely related to the J. Schram in flavor profile at this age. (1934 views)
Tasted by mayakacz on 5/1/2021: Medium- lemon.
Medium intensity aroma of pear, passion fruit, apple, bread.
Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Light intensity aroma of lemon, apple, grape. Short finish. (2147 views)
Tasted by Laz4wine on 4/10/2021 & rated 90 points: Good stuff, a little yeast, citrus, and creamy hazel-nuttiness can't go wrong. Suspect some older reviews might reflect prior bottlings as this version from ~1 year ago is solid. (2012 views)
Tasted by JVG on 2/22/2021: No formal notes, but this bottle wasn't impressive. Simple, a bit of citrus, no real autolytic character, and an unremarkable texture. One would be much better off at this price with Roederer Estate. (1839 views)
Tasted by DomaineJoi on 12/25/2020 flawed bottle: Corked. No carbonation. Sad face. (1775 views)

Champagne Blend

"Champagne blend" is a classic grape blend that typically includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier in any proportions.

However, this blend can also include Arbane, Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Petit Meslier and/or Pinot Blanc as well.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson

North Coast

The North Coast American Viticultural Area (AVA) in California, covering more than three million acres, includes Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake counties, and portions of Marin and Solano counties. (see The Wine Institute for more information)
