Tasted by jhighs1234 on 1/6/2019: The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. (982 views)
Tasted by Humblewineguy on 7/29/2016 & rated 88 points: Possibly past its prime. Assuming it had one. (3565 views)
Tasted by elevwine on 10/6/2015 & rated 89 points: 375ml bottling is fading. Past its peak but still enjoyable, just not for much longer. (4277 views)

Tasted by elevwine on 7/16/2015 & rated 90 points: Half bottle still holding up well especially for the price. Soft tannins, almost jammy now but still enjoyable. (4262 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 7/5/2015 & rated 87 points: Not a good bottle. Last of my batch. Reminds me of Lady Gaga...a little hot and funky....Sharon says she picks up a hit of feet...and I concur.__ (3574 views)
Tasted by sdonahue on 5/10/2015 & rated 90 points: not as good as i remember an earlier one (2025 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 4/5/2015 & rated 89 points: See previous notes (894 views)
Tasted by elevwine on 2/7/2015 & rated 87 points: Agree with others that there seems to be bottle variation. Earlier bottle was excellent but this bottle was overly sweet with port-like favors. Not unpleasant but not expected. Balance also a bit off. 87 (1765 views)
Tasted by emmcrod on 2/1/2015 & rated 91 points: A bot of anise, great body and balance. No hint of port. Excellent. Must have a great bottle. (1666 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 1/25/2015 & rated 89 points: This was a very oakey bottle. Experiencin significant bottle variation with this lot. (1440 views)
Tasted by wirelesswine on 12/3/2014: From 375. Oddly sweet and port-like. Tasty but not what I expected. (1897 views)

Tasted by NickTrainer on 11/8/2014: Nice one (1638 views)
Tasted by FarmerKeith LA/VA on 10/20/2014 & rated 90 points: I really rate it 90.5. Burgundy states , you can tell more plot differentiation, in off years. Unfortunately , we don't know where these grapes were sourced, but for an "off" vintage , I have enjoyed this bargain Napa cab every time I open one , and more so , now. 24 bucks. Great value! (1620 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 10/19/2014 & rated 91 points: This wine is still fresh and clean and vibrant. Great with grilled ribeye. Not as oakey as previous bottles. Fruit remains primary and lush with smokey finishing notes. (1698 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 10/8/2014 & rated 92 points: See previous notes (1010 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 9/8/2014 & rated 89 points: See previous notes (1283 views)
Tasted by ICaWineGuy on 8/24/2014 & rated 92 points: This bottle was back to the deliciousness I had first. (1290 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 8/24/2014 & rated 90 points: See previous notes. (1248 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 8/24/2014 & rated 90 points: See previous drinking notes. Solid Napa cab. (1107 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 8/24/2014 flawed bottle: This was an off bottle. Slightly corked. (1082 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 8/17/2014 & rated 90 points: Decanted for over an hour. Opened up well on the nose and palate. Deep/opaque purple. Hints of creme de casis, cedar, oak and cigar box with a lingering and not quite so smooth finish. Solid QPR. (985 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 8/8/2014 & rated 91 points: A little tight after a one hour decant. Requires a lot of air. The nose had some muted fruit with other intangibles. Deep purple/violet color with loose transparent crimson edge. Very fruit forward, medium to full bodied with a lot of oak in the middle and on the finish. The finish is long and persistent. Paired well with grilled lamb chops. (941 views)
Tasted by MadisonWIneGuy on 5/31/2014 & rated 90 points: 90-91 pts. Think this peaked about a yar ago, and is now on the slight decline. Still mighty fine. See many previous notes. (1123 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
