Tasted by rodbender on 2/27/2013: I was disappointed in this wine. Decanted it for an hour. This smooth light wine had a strange after taste. Some one described the taste as anise. (1722 views)
Tasted by HokieFox on 9/5/2011 & rated 86 points: - Crimsom color and aromas of raisin, cloves, medicinal and alcohol. It's lacking fruit and has flavours of cedar and licorice anise with a light/medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish. (2636 views)

Tasted by jeremy_ross on 3/6/2011 & rated 87 points: Strawberries, rose petals, med weight, nice acid, soft tannins, med finish, slight earth component. This wine is fruit forward and seems well made, but also nothing special about it. (1893 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.
