| Community Tasting Notes (average 89 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 4 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Jason Wu on 5/11/2020 & rated 87 points: Appearance: deep ruby with garnet at the rim Nose: medium intensity; aromas of black pepper, redcurrant, toast, chocolate, confectionary. It's developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus tannins (grippy), high alcohol, medium plus body, medium flavour intensity. Flavours align with nose but not very distinctive (everything is mixed together). The finish is medium. Overall, it's a good wine. Drink now, not suitable for further ageing. This wine is a bit let-down, knowing its fame in the past. The flavour intensity isn't there to tame the alcohol, nor the finish is impressive. Good thing is that I got it relatively cheap. However, there're tons of more enjoyable wines out there with similar pricing point. With 1 hr decanting, still no sign of improvement. Let's see if it will get better on day 2. (348 views) | | Tasted by chatters on 8/14/2013: Spice and black pepper dominate. On the palate there is some muted, though coarse, tannin and some touches of plum joining the spice note. Hmm.
