Tasted by cstir on 3/3/2013 & rated 87 points: On the lighter side with modest depth; slight citrus; limited finish. (2339 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 7/8/2011 & rated 89 points: A really solid wine with lemon, mineral, pear and subtle oak. Well balance a WTSO steal. (4003 views)
Tasted by winegr on 6/19/2011 & rated 89 points: 89-90. Very nice. A solid oak note, but lots of balanced citrus and slight refreshing tartness to go with the apple, citrus, and creamy note. I like this more than prior bottles. (4065 views)
Tasted by winegr on 3/24/2011 & rated 88 points: Cleansing acidity, but not overly complex. Some tart citrus to go with the apple, spice, and other chardonnay typical flavors. Not as much vanilla as last time, but not better. 88+. (4649 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 3/18/2011 & rated 88 points: Wood, lemon, pinneapple, vanilla and tangerine. The palate is a bit too much wood/vanilla but it doesn't kill the wine. This is a good every day Chardonnay. (4742 views)
Tasted by winegr on 2/28/2011 & rated 89 points: Solid white with nice acidity. Shows a bit too much vanilla flavor for my preference night 1, but it is offset by some nice tart citrus acidity that cleanses the palate. Certainly a nice wine, but not overly complex. (2803 views)

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
