Tasted by esb on 9/20/2011: Lots of dissolved CO2 in this - almost frizzante. Clean, lifted (CO2), basic but pleasant green apple/peach fruit. It has good acid and more weight in the mouth than expected which is balanced by the CO2 giving it a dry snappy finish, but it's not overly acidic. Delicious, pop, pour, enjoy. (6560 views)
Tasted by WetRock on 5/16/2011: Port4olio Tasting (O Hotel, LA): Fatter and heavier fruit on the nose than most Vinho Verdes. Dense fruit but still fresh and light feeling. It almost seems like the fruit concentration is too high for the sort of wine but I wouldn't call it heavy. (8196 views)
Tasted by yeastbeast on 4/12/2011 & rated 85 points: Drank it over several days with a variety of cheeses and smoked fish snacks. Citrus nose and crisp, mineral flavor with excellent tightness and focus. Pretty much the model wine of this type. Would by again at $15. (7290 views)
Tasted by Jason Rzutkiewicz on 1/27/2011 & rated 90 points: (12.5%) 70% Alvarhinho, 30% Trajadura – Almost translucent in color with just a slight golden hue. The nose shows ripe citrus and tropical fruits. Starts round and clear on the palate before turning snappy with crisp green apple and pear flavors on back of a bracing acidity. Not the kind that requires age, this is a forward, tasty, what you see is what you get acidity. Dry and refreshing throughout with a firm texture and a tart, lingering finish. This one screams for seafood. Or a hot day on the patio. Or both. Ceviche anyone? At $15 the quality here certainly justifies the price as this is a very nice step up from your typical Vinho Verde… (7780 views)
