Tasted by Winestache on 11/24/2022 & rated 92 points: Phenomenal. This is well outside the CT window but this bottle has not lost a thing. Hour decant and has great fruit. Opens up over the next couple hours. (201 views)
Tasted by Tturco on 12/26/2013 & rated 90 points: Nice fruit remains. Good length and big enough to enjoy with lighter meal. Drink now if you have any left. (2271 views)
Tasted by EvanRose on 5/6/2012 & rated 90 points: Dark, black fruit, earthy undertone, full bodied. Opened up nicely to be very smooth, with a nice long finish. I'm just sorry this was my last bottle. (2902 views)
Tasted by sayward on 6/5/2011 & rated 91 points: Drank another of these about 1 week ago and this bottle was a lot better. Cork disintegrated into a mess. Seems to be common with these bottles I got on winebid. Some wood on the nose with muted fruit. So not really my style, but what really made an impression on me was how integrated the tannins were. Drinking well, but I am thinking that it is time to drink these up. (3482 views)
Tasted by sayward on 5/31/2011 & rated 90 points: cork was a mess. wine was fine, but everyone agreed that it was near its end of life. drink up! (3488 views)
Tasted by mgl on 9/22/2010 & rated 92 points: We hoped for the 98 that a previous drinker had given but had to settle for a 92. A very nice wine with lots of flavor, smooth as can be and a nice long finish. Full bodied, well balanced, lots of berry, black berry, chocolate, etc. only had the one but loved it a lot. (3760 views)
Tasted by longhorncab on 5/8/2010 & rated 98 points: Drinking perfectly now, this beautiful cab has everything you look for:
smooth, rich tannins, velvety mouthfeel with good palate weight, wonderful
fruit, and a seamless finish. Great wine, at full maturity! (2422 views)
Tasted by mda7 on 2/14/2010 & rated 92 points: O M G. Wow, full-bodied, ripe and rich fruit, yet very smooth. Lots of flavors. A killer for our Valentine's Day dinner. Wish I had more but glad I opened it tonight. (2080 views)
Tasted by claytonsmum on 8/30/2009 & rated 93 points: wow (2382 views)
Tasted by jtcseventysix on 8/23/2009 & rated 89 points: Ripe plum fruit, almost raisin, game and alcohol on the nose; then wet granite, rich, ripe sweet plum fruit, herbs (sage?) and oak; smooth yet with a tightly wound finish. (2720 views)
Tasted by Brownvino on 2/5/2009 & rated 94 points: Smooth tannins. Great fruit noise. Hint of tar and tobacco. (3600 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
