| Community Tasting Notes (average 91 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 7 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Burgundy Al on 5/12/2015 & rated 90 points: Dinner with Friends (Juno - Chicago IL): Rich and unctuous, perhaps not necessarily what I was expecting tonight. Ripe stone fruit mostly coming through with spice that made me think this a blend vs pure Riesling. Slightly lacking in structure at this point, it's clearly time to drink up. Bottle purchased at release and store perfectly since. (2251 views) | | Tasted by drwine2001 on 4/1/2013: Light golden. Broad, peach scents and flavors, some spice and finishing soil. Weighty but it lacks some tension due to lower acidity. Will never be an alltime great, but very happy to drink my last bottle now. Then rich, dry peach and excellent acidity. Powerful. Alone, this probably would have seemed great, but after the wonderful Deutz Champagne, it fell flat, feeling oily and fat. A case in point of context, serving order and palate conditioning. (2596 views) | | Tasted by ssouth on 5/9/2011 & rated 94 points: 2000 Weingut Nigl Senftenberg-Kremstal Riesling Privat , alc 15.5%, $50...fairly dark yellow color...nose is of honeysuckle blossoms...at a great place in it's evolution...still nervy and crisp but starting to show some complexity of fruit with some Asian spice notes
Great with Murgh Saag and Curried Lentils (2765 views) | | Tasted by christyler on 8/25/2009 & rated 90 points: *Deep* yellow color. Grainy, interesting, and amazing. Not too much minerality. Very delicious, needs food. (1883 views) | | Tasted by JeffGMorris on 1/22/2008: Open That Bottle Night at St Jacques. From magnum. Closed tight but showing little to no acidic structure. Is this an off bottle? NR (1727 views) |
