From Corkbuzz Wine Studio NYC Back Vintage Wine Class on 3/25/2013: Beautiful soft yellow showing age in the glass. Nose very typical Riesling of honey, melon, pear, apple with touch of lemon. This was a weak botrytis vintage so nothing too sweet here even for a Spatlese. The wine really sang of fried lemon peel. Not the standard hauting tone I traditionally pick of from Riesling but really wonderful regardless. should hang for another number of years easily
From Corkbuzz Wine Studio NYC Back Vintage Wine Class on 3/25/2013: Not completely sure on this given it was my first older vintage Chenin Blanc but very very interesting. This wine screaming of wet wool, steel wool, cotton. Volcanic and mineral. There were elements of miso and umami here. Super interesting. might have been a little too much sulfer in this for me though. Drink this one. 99 wet wintage in Loire

From Corkbuzz Wine Studio NYC Back Vintage Wine Class on 3/25/2013: This wine is an outstanding example of a great wine from a very poor vintage. Color is starting to develop that golden yellow hue from aged chardonnay. Nose and palate confirm very similar items: buttered movie popcorn, slightly cooked/burned marshmellow, little sweet bubble gum (but not over powering), lemon custard to take away too much sweatness. This wine was a wonderful surprise. Not too sweet, aging very well. Haunting in the flavor profile.

From Corkbuzz Wine Studio NYC Back Vintage Wine Class on 3/25/2013: Very exciting wine. Really has taken hold of the vintage dirty notes from aged CDP: all smoked meat, sausage, white pepper, hay, dirt, soil, earthy. This wine lasted like a charcuterie meat platter. Maybe not for everyone, but perfect example of rhone style wine for me.

From Corkbuzz Wine Studio NYC Back Vintage Wine Class on 3/25/2013: This one a little less interesting versus some other aged pinot i've experienced. Showing small signs of some pink on the rim variation. starting to pick up those subtle secondary elements of grainy mustard and sausage too. Maybe a touch pruned for me on this as it opened in the glass. Not all that impressed with how this wine has aged. not as memorable as others from the tasting.
From Corkbuzz Wine Studio NYC Back Vintage Wine Class on 3/25/2013: This wine has evolved so nicely with age: The nose actually has a decent amount of heat left on it which surprised me some. The nose is cedar, wood plank, smokey notes of old leather. SO Oakville. Palate confirms the note but adds some secondary notes of spice box, tobacco, shoe leather. Someone added mole sauce which is an excellent descriptor. most interestingly, vegatal elements coming through here too which I'm not all that crazy about. Very bordeaux on how this wine has aged. Probably ready to be consumed now but could give it a little more time.
