Once again I didn't have time to taste through all the wine, but I did the best I could. I started (mostly) with the red wines, and finished (mostly) with the whites, hence have a better representation of red wines in my notes vs. white. Notes are in the sequence of the tasting guide provided, not the sequence the wines were tasted.
Tasting. Forward and accessible today. Orchard fruit aromas and flavors. Simpler than the rest of the lineup today with a slightly sweet finish that didn't come across as classically Chablis.

Tasting. Orchard fruit start, then lemon in background on nose and finish. Lots of energy and verve on clean finish. Getting better than when I had this when younger.

Tasting. Lemon and apple aromas with a lean, edgy character and subtle spice and floral notes. Also a bit restrained on palate with apple and pear, a hint of bitterness near finish for now that will most likely dissipate with time. Very good.

Tasting. Forward apple and pear aromas with plenty of new oak spice that still needs a little time to integrate. Identical fruit on palate with some citrus elements at end. Very precise, long finish. Better in another few years, certainly with 92-93 point potential.

Tasting. Forward, ripe apple with some stone fruit hints. Also lush on palate, which masks the good level of acidity. Moderate length and intensity vs the other 1ers tasted today with a less elegant finish.

Tasting. This was similar to when tasted a few months back, but more balanced, less hot, better textured and more elegant. Still fat, ripe and forward, this is charming and sexy. I slightly preferred this over the Genevrieres today.

Tasting. Orchard fruit aromas with some lemon and lemon zest hints. Good spice as well on nose and palate. Flavors also start with a similar profile, starting somewhat simple but expanding toward middle and finish with its structure also coming forward.

Tasting. Powerful aromatic start with peach, ripe apple, toasted walnuts, flowers and expressive spice. Very big density and concentration on palate that's a little over-intense right now, great potential in another 3-4 years with great long-term potential.

Tasting. Lush and forward black cherry aromas with anise, some clove and plenty of background new oak spice. Very alluring fruit again on palate, this is beautiful at this early stage but with the stuffing and structure to age gracefully.

Tasting. Apple and lemon aromas, then a bit more lemon/lime on palate. Very precise and easy to enjoy right now with a good energetic pop on finish.

Tasting. Alluring stone fruit aromas wit plenty of spice. Sweet peach flavors, again some new oak protruding a bit right now, but very lush and sexy already today. Much like when I tasted it last year in Burgundy, this is a great wine now with intriguing medium-term potential.

Tasting. Ripe apple aromas with some peach hints and plenty of spice. Very enticing start on both nose and palate. Ripe apple and pear flavors with good acidity and textural support. Really sensational now, this should be wonderful through 2020.

Tasting. Red fruit aromas and flavors start-to-finish. Elegant, lacy start, more brawny on finish. Cellar for at least a few years.

Tasting. All black fruit aromas with faint spice hints. Just moderately forthcoming on nose, very dense and meaty on palate. Firm and masculine, also somewhat backward on palate, particular towards the end. It's what to expect from young Corton with seriously good potential.

Tasting. Ripe peach aromas with some lemon zest, summer flowers and hints of new oak. Palate again shows rich fruit with lots of great textural elements in support. Another outstanding vintage for this wine.

Tasting. Lots of red fruit with moderate spice and fair amount of early-to-emerge earthy notes. Very firm on palate with moderate density. Tough to really enjoy right now, I'd expect this needs at least 5 years in the cellar, more likely 10+.

Tasting. Red and black cherry aromas and flavors with some licorice and a fair dollop of oak spice. More firmly tannic that i normally expect from young chambolle, but still showing elegant textural nuance and lacy charm, just more in background. Give to 2020.

Tasting. Fat fruit aromas, slightly tropical. Palate is a bit more refined with some apple and lemon to accompany the mango and pineapple. Finish then comes across as surprisingly elegant with acidity and minerality emerging.

Tasting. Incredibly exciting wine starts with great spring flowers and lots of red and black cherry aromas. Same flavor profile with intense concentration. Firmly structured for now, spice and intense black cherry come back front-and-center on long finish. Needs lots of cellar time.

Tasting. Black cherry mostly to start with a bit of blackberry. Prominent oak spice right now but also some licorice and mushroom elements. Red and black cherry flavors, firmly structured and a bit austere at end. Needs plenty of cellar time. Another very good vintage for this wine.

Tasting. Ripe red and black fruit aromas, flavors. Very good overall for its level and an impressive value wine. Charming now but with enough firmness and structure to improve over the next few years, then be tasty into the next decade.

Tasting. Black and red cherry aromas with gamy elements, sauteed mushroom, cocoa and fresh herbs. Densely packed fruit on palate at first came across as more like many 2009s than 2010s, but more finesse and textural elements subtly emerge from middle to end. Give this time.

Tasting. Big, dense and brooding black fruit on nose and palate is a classically NSG manner. Firm, dense start-to-finish. Good.

Tasting. Similar to the Bousselots just tasted, just one step up overall, particularly more floral and enticing aromatically. 90-91 point potential.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Tasting. A big step up to me from the Bousselots and Roncieres just tasted. Strong spice and floral complements to the dark black fruit aromas. Also dense and firm, but well textured and mineral-driven, so there is simply enough of everything for the to become a sensational wine, probably around 2020.

Tasting. An interesting contrast to the Cailles just tasted. This was more dense, more concentrated and more brooding. Lots of power with good spice to complement the great fruit, but just so much structure that I can't imagine this really being pleasurable or charming until at least 2025, perhaps later.

Tasting. Much like I remember from when tasted in Burgundy last year, this is all about dense black fruit, great concentration and power with subtle spice elements throughout in background. Slightly brooding already, this will require plenty of time in the cellar.

Tasting. This came across quite differently than I remember from tasting in Burgundy last year. Lots of red and black fruit today with modest spice, it is now much more firm and concentrated, almost seeming to be shutting down already. Great length.

Tasting. Mostly black fruit aromas and flavors, some red cherry in background with good spice. Great power and density start-to-finish with firm but elegant tannins. Needs at least a decade in the cellar. Great potential, I found this a real step up from the Suchots just tasted.

Tasting. Red charming with a charming Asian five spice complement. Very well textured and elegant. Firm at end. This will prob start shutting down soon, and need perhaps 5+ years in the cellar.

Tasting. Slightly more black than red fruit, all with very good spice than came across as more "Vosne" than "NSG" to me today. Good length and persistence throughout, all with moderate density. Very good overall.

Tasting. Truly a superb Echezeaux. Mostly red cherry aromas with great Asian spice. Same spice on palate with both red and black cherry. Sensational length and textures to long finish, already showing fascinating nuance through to finish.

Tasting. Black cherry aromas with some red cherry and liqueur in background along with modest spice. Same fruit profile on palate, lots of power and concentration, in fact more so than the Echezeaux just tasted; however I slightly preferred the spice/fruit profile of the Echezeaux. This will need at least a decade in the cellar and I'd expect it will really need to 2030+ to really show its full potential.

Tasting. Perhaps a bit reductive, perhaps starting to shut down, I found this dense and somewhat brooding today, even with great concentration coming through on finish. Tough to assess.

Tasting. Red cherry, some strawberry aromas with great baking spice. Slightly darker fruit on palate, great density throughout, lots of spice particularly middle to finish. Very long, very impressively textured. Certainly, easily 95+ point potential.

Tasting. Black fruit start on both nose and palate. Fruit softens middle to finish, picking up lots of energy. Long spice-driven finish, ends with an exciting explosive note. Very good long-term potential here. Slightly better than i recall from when tasted late last year.

Tasting. Very powerful, ripe black fruit start with some animale, spice and chocolate background hints. Dense, meaty, almost chewy on palate with black cherry and blackberry throughout, then good spice on finish. slightly brooding today, give this close to a decade in the cellar. Almost at the same quality level of the CSJ.

Tasting. Red and black cherry aromas, more red chery on palate. Big spice component on both. This is picking up weight vs. when tasted one year ago in Burgundy. A really sensational Villages wine, that I'd easily have thought 1er based on density if tasted blind.

Tasting. Meaty and dense with slightly more black than red fruit. Good textures at start through middle, then seemingly a little backward on finish. Needs plenty of cellar time. I'm glad we tasted this after the more lacy, textured Chambolle Cras.

Tasting. Cross section of red and black fruit, with black cherry most prominent. Lots of power and concentration from start-to-finish with spice mostly coming through middle-to-end. Very good density and length. Really wonderful wine, one slight step up from the sensational Chambolle-Musigny Cras also just tasted.

Tasting. Starts with robust black fruit, modest spice, lots of meaty Gevrey character, slightly backward right now. Palate is somewhat more intriguing, with that same dense black fruit, but very nuanced, energetic textures. Good spice middle to finish. A very impressive vintage for this wine.
