This is very, very young and tight with a cool core, a bright acidity and severe tannins. I am loving it even at this adolescent stage, but it really is criminal to keep opening these ... Compared to the 2007 tasted recently, this certainly gets the nod. It has a firmer, more masculine structure, more suitable for the vineyard, and it quite tight at the moment - opening is certainly borderline criminal. Will keep for along time and achieve maturity as a good, mid-weight Chambertin. With The expensive Winos at KH.

Lighter still than last time, this has loads of barnyard and sous bois along with sweet and elegant grenache and local character en masse - not an opulent wine, very elegant, of not cool. Certainly on the top of it's game - and even better with food.

2008 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Chambertin 93 Points
