Earth, cherry, lemon, minty and plenty of spice. Light fruit sweetness with good underlying power, there is lift and verve here as well. Very good length. Came back to this a couple of hours later and it was showing even better. Delicious stuff.
Smoke, honey and some wooden notes on the nose. The palate is round and honeyed, with decent acidity and depth of flavour. Feels a little one dimensional and short though. This bottle felt like it should be drunk now.
Lime, herb, musk, graphite and ripe pears and peaches. Creamy mouthfeel, with good punch to the fruit. Has ripeness while still having some depth to it. Very good length.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Lime, slate, plenty of white and yellow floral notes on the nose. Good density to the fruit while remaining fresh and light, the acidity cuts through in a nice way. Plenty of texture even with the ripeness of the fruit. Got better with time in the glass.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Mulch and VA aromas. Faded on the palate. In pretty bad shape. I tried this 9 years ago and it was looking problematic then, time has not served it well.
Blind. Sweet red cherry, some vanilla and light meaty aromas. Very very soft fruit on the palate, it is approachable but doesn't have a lot of structure to it. Decent youthful drinking and certainly interesting to try something from this region.
Blind. A little cloudy coloured. Herbal, violet, graphite, smoke and quite woody. This has some of the same soft fruit as the previous wine, but there is also more structure and body to it. Decent length and moderate depth, this has some interest beyond its region rarely seen in my market.
Cherry, redcurrant, slightly leafy and blackberry aromas - lovely Cabernet character. On the palate, there is elegance and restraint to the fruit, with impeccably fine tannin structure. Lovely control and flow throughout. Brilliant wine.
Lifted aromatics of violets, black cherry, spice, redcurrant and plums. The palate has some flesh but also a steely undertone. Really like the style here, it is impressively deep while still being pretty. Unfortunate that the price is so high as I'd otherwise seek some out.

Blackcurrant, blackberry, some toasty oak and redcurrant. Sweet red fruit on the palate, good length, good mix of structure and fruit. I liked this more as it spent time in the glass. Very good potential.
