After a break from wine events thought about time to get the band back together. Reds are hard on a hot night but wines showed well overall with some chilling.
A bit better than the last bottle. I would not hold these extremely long. Underbrush, subtle fruits, spice and floral notes. Medium finish and went really well with the salmon spread.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Drinking pretty well and a long life ahead. Decanted for 2 hours. Concentrated with licorice, funk, floral notes and damp earth. Longer finish and quite balanced. Should age these another 5 years if you only have a few left otherwise sample and see the evolution of the wine.
Impressive wine and should age for another decade. Concentrated with dark fruits, oak, spices and a nice mineral streak. Medium to long finish. Balanced. Decanted 2 plus hours.
Drinking well after a two hour decant. Perfume, floral, spices and red currants. Very smooth wine and balanced. Long finish. Should drink over the next 15 years. For sure needs a solid decant prior to consuming.
Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
Excellent showing again. One of the most steady Aussie wines. Dark fruits, coffee, pepper and spice. Long finish and concentrated wine. Decanted 2 hours. Drink now or hold up to ten years.
