With the tariff my merchant decided to review some white and red Bourgogne still in the market. Prices are going up so it was worth a second look. We were gathered to taste Nouveau Beaujolais anyway.
Beaujolais
Four nice wines, bought some of the La Chatelaine
All disappointing, overpriced, even with price reductions
There is a reason many of these wines are still around, most were poor values and in the case of the reds insipid. The Beaujolais was the best red of the evening.
2019 Domaine Dupeuble Pere et Fils Beaujolais Nouveau 87 Points
France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Beaujolais Nouveau
Solid as always. Easy fresh banana strawberry fruit, supple tannins, hint of courseness, but the overall juicy notes dominate. Fun wine
