rich ripe fruits, fresh, only lightly honeyed, no kerosene, lithe seamless structure. Great drinking.

benchmark Yarra pinot, on the typically more stylish reserved side with barely any development, just a well integrated red berry and a hint of spice.

deep colour some tawny at the rim but burgundy core. Clean nose, soft fragrance, damson, floral, hint of sour cherry. Crushed herb, cherry stone zest, earthy, dark cherry, dark tar spices. Medium weight, well balanced, long resonant finish, fine tannins. Remarkably youthful, in structure and flavours. Gorgeous blend of fruit and spice.

deep dark fruit, mulberry and cassis, rich but smooth, softened tannins and decent acidity, tobacco leaf complexity, nice hints of development, drinking well.

Amazing stuff, never fails to leave me speechless. Thick as honey, coats the glass and stays in place, only really needs to be smelled to be enjoyed. Reduced raisins and maple syrup, fruitcake extract, burnt toast and honey, butterscotch, absolute essence of old reduced red wine, cleansing acidity, and a mind-blowing length. You don't need much, less is more.

pale straw. light honeysuckle, lemon curd. Minerality, delicate citrus zest, faint honey, floral. Great balance, still very youthful structure, yet has a refined style.

very light, not much earth, delicate, silky, lacking intensity, pleasant but not exciting.

Deep rich colour.
Dark fruits, dark spice, blood, plum, damson.
Plums and blood, a little earth but not heavily, rich dark flavours, plenty of fine tannins but less than might be expected for BM, the unusual flavour profile probably linked to warm vintage. More plums than cherry, but made in a refined structured style. It’s absolutely delicious in an atypical way for BM. Seems like it will continue to build spice and richness.

Typically refined style but with lovely intensity. Youthful, delicious primary flavours, an undercurrent of darker spice still overwhelmed by youth at this point.

Light open style, red berry and licorice spice, true to its name, faded and a little dried out but only reasonable in view of its age. Plenty of flavour and some fine tannins.

amazing mustard weed rose petal floral / herbal nose, ink and tar spice, bright complex but clearly old profile. Bright purple, bizarrely youthful colour. Lovely ripe fruits, still with fine tannins, and good acidity. Some earth, but nothing obviously oxidative.
