  • 1997 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie 94 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

Pop and pour. Best after 30-45 min of air, with wine showing greater complexity. After 2 hours or so with a lot of air (wine left in the glass), the wine smelled pruney and oxidized. Drink up!

  • 1998 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie 93 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

Much lighter in body than I was expecting. A little simple. But long life ahead, and didn't fall down like the 1997. But this bottle also had a smidge less of everything versus the 1998. I'm told there is a lot of bottle variation in old Jamet as not all barrels were blended.

  • 2012 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie 94 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

Double decanted and drunk 12+ hours later. Next to the 1997 and 1998, you can see this wine headed in that same direction. Soft on the palate without the exuberance I felt from the last bottle.. giving this bottle a lot of air clearly gave a sense for where this wine is headed to.

Flight 2 (1 Note)

  • 2019 Jean-Pierre Guyon Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées 96 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru

Decanted for 4 hours, put back in the bottle and then drank a few hours later. This wine was expressive on the nose... blitz of Vosne spice, vivid red cherry and some cotton candy. This is clearly a pricey and desirable Vosne nose! Palate needs a few more years to continue shedding baby fat. Let these sleep for 7-10 years!
