Walkaround tasting. Not for me. This somehow manages to showcase Cali's high alcohol character along with pronounced bitterness that didn't complement each other. Others liked this more.
Walkaround tasting. Tasty and well made, this showcases Viognier ripeness and intensity without completely losing its balance. Good length. Very easy to enjoy now.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
All red fruit, fleshy and earthy with plenty of Vosne styled spice. Good richness and depth, this is at a perfect place combining g freshness and maturity in exceptional harmony.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Served to me double blind, my initial thought was Northern Rhône, but that is not surprising for a dense 2005 Burgundy. Black fruited and still firm, the spice on the long-ish finish was very Cote de Nuits. Not the most depth for this cuvée or this vintage, but this is starting g to open up nicely.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Red fruited with charming florals and medium weight, this hints at simplicity but then carries on. Malconsorts is rarely forthcoming this young and even 2017 doesn’t provide an exception. Good tonight but 90+ point potential from 2027 forward.
Rich red fruits, nicely spiced, near sweet finish. Good volume. I was surprised to read TRB used whole cluster in Kanzler for 2015, and it certainly came across without dominating. Very good now through the next few years, even if not as complex as the winery is able to achieve at Summa.
USA, California, Sonoma County, Fort Ross - Seaview
Wonderful combination of red berries, anise, earth, and mint that manages to be somewhat flashy and restrained at the same time. Nicely complex with lots going on, helped by its bright textures. Certainly good to cellar further.
Walkaround tasting. My first time tasting RBS from 2016, and it is certainly one of the finest Schrader wines I have ever tasting, almost certainly the most refined and elegant.
Tasted double blind, and it seems like a ripe New World wine, but with firm structure. Enjoyable but the structure and jammy fruit combined to make it slightly non-descript to me.
2007 Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut 92 Points
France, Champagne
Walkaround tasting. Good weight, length, and balance with plenty of apple and some lemon. Very good now, but not a vintage for the back of the cellar.

Walkaround tasting. A step up from the previous Remy. The combination of berry with orchard worked well, adding richness, complexity, and depth.

2016 Domaine Dujac Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Monts-Luisants Blanc 87 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru
Walkaround tasting. Opulent start with good richness, then much more angular and tart on finish. Not yet perfectly harmonious.

2006 J. Rochioli Chardonnay River Block
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Walkaround tasting. Long in the tooth, but this was also a bit oaky and high octane, which made it seem even more lackluster and charmless.
