Introduction

We had all kinds of meat. Since real Korean beef is not available in the states, I bought a 12lb Japanese Wagyu from Costco. The Korean beef is in between the prime and the Wagyu but beefier like the prime. We had five kids so a lot of meat was consumed which made me super happy.

    This is quite elegant and delicious. Generous perfectly ripe yellow fruit, lemon curd, red apple, white flowers, brioche, saline and fine mineral. Already showing beautifully integrated palate, finely layered pure yellow and white fruit, perfect balance, freshness, and precision, very fine generous mousse, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long pure delicious yellow and white fruit driven finish. This seems more like the 08 than the actual 08 Churchill. A classic Tete de Cuvee.

  • 2015 Paul Bara Champagne Grand Cru Spécial Club Rosé 94 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

    Initially a bit too cold which gives the sharp impression. Delicate pink color which the nose reflects. Delicious delicate red/pink fruit, strawberry soda, raspberry soda, rose, brioche and limestone. Medium concentration, nicely layered delicate pink fruit, fine generous mousse, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a long elegant pink fruit driven mineral finish. As warms up, the palate gets creamy which I love in Rose. This is a delicious and sophisticated Rose champagne.

  • 2003 Domaine Perrot-Minot Mazoyères-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 93 Points

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru

    Expressive nose displaying ripe black fruit, blackberry, blackberry jam, cappuccino, dark spices, a hint of sous bois and tree bark like mineral. Very good concentration, layers upon layers of very ripe black fruit, rich and deeply toned, slightly hollow middle due to the 03 ripeness, medium acidity, medium mineral, and a long ripe black fruit driven finish. It clearly displays the 03 ripe fruit expression but not too bothersome. This is drinking well. With time, this may evolve like the 76s, i.e. ripe and soft. This may further benefit by more pronounce tertiary notes and sous bois.

    France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Moulin-à-Vent

    Ample jammy red fruit, Chambord, raspberry jam, animal, dark spices and earth. Very good concentration, generous sweet red fruit, medium acidity, earthy mineral, and a medium long jammy red fruit driven finish. This is a classic crus Beaujolais that is drinking well.

    Expressive nose displaying concentrated yellow fruit, apricot, mango, peach preserve, a hint of red currant, sweet spices and earth. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of rich concentrated yellow fruit, rich and full, bright acidity and medium mineral, and a long concentrated yellow fruit driven finish. Although delicious, I find the nose a bit straightforward.
