  • NV Adami Prosecco di Treviso Brut Garbèl 89 Points

    Italy, Veneto, Prosecco di Treviso

nice aromatics, on the palate, very creamy for a Prosecco...tropical fruit and very tasty. Very tasty and a great sipper. Would consider buying...

  • NV Louis de Grenelle Crémant de Loire Platine 86 Points

France, Loire Valley, Crémant de Loire

Loire valley Sparkler blend of Chenin blanc, chardonnay, and Cab Franc....crisp and dry, with a rocky minerally taste...I think the chardonnay component is dominant...good but not great...would certainly drink again, but probably would not go out and buy

  • 2008 Qupé Bien Nacido Cuvée 90 Points

USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Maria Valley

50-50 blend of Chardonnay and Viogner that works very well. Great aromatics just flowing out of the glass. Medium plus body, I get floral, peach and pear flavors. Nice oak treatment gives it a rich but not over-oaked taste. great balance and flavor. a winner.

  • 2007 Maysara Winery Pinot Noir Jamsheed Momtazi Vineyard 79 Points

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, McMinnville

Popped and poured, on the nose smoked meat. on the palate, pickle juice on the attack but woefully thin. Can barely make out some red fruit, could definitely use more fruit. Maybe this would open up with more air time, but under the conditions of the tasting easily the lowest rated bottle. Would pass if offered this wine.

  • 2005 Sartori di Verona Ripasso della Valpolicella Superiore 87 Points

Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Ripasso della Valpolicella Superiore

popped and poured at a wine tasting. muted nose , dark fruit dusty dry tannins. old world barnyard. this wine needed a nice hearty pasta dish with meat sauce (and probably some air time) to really shine. medium body, medium + acidity. pretty good.

  • 2007 Peachy Canyon Zinfandel Westside 91 Points

USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles

popped and poured at a wine tasting. Concentrated dark fruit and chocolate on the nose, these flavors carried over to the palate. big full bodied zinfandel that had everything that I like in a zin. It hid it's alcohol, was fun to drink, and could be paired with a big hearty dish or even sipped alone by a fire right before the dessert comes out, or outside while smoking a cigar. This was the overwhelming WOTN for myself and the entire group. A winner and a great QPR. Will seek some of this out.

  • 2006 Steltzner Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District

USA, California, Napa Valley, Stags Leap District

popped and poured as part of the wine tasting. This approach did not do this wine justice.Muted nose, on the palate Dark fruit, med - acidity, and almost a cough medicine taste (but not quite that far). This wine probably needed about 3 hours of decanting to really show its stuff. As a result I won't rate it here.
