  • 2006 Domaine La Bouïssiere Gigondas 91 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Gigondas

    The nose had lots of graphite and plum, a little red currant, and some toasted oak at the end. The palate was very soft, and had pencil lead, licorice, plum, and a creamy oak finish.

  • 2005 Familia Zuccardi Tempranillo Q 90 Points

    Argentina, Mendoza, Santa Rosa

    The nose had plum and cherry, some leather and mocha, and quite a bit of tobacco at the end. The palate had firm tannins and a lot of dark fruit. Underneath was chocolate and tobacco, and it had a good plum finish.

  • 2007 Montes Alpha Carménère 90 Points

    Chile, Rapel Valley, Colchagua Valley

    The nose had blueberry and spice, some barnyard, and a little smoke at the end. The palate was rich with good tannic grip. It had some floral notes mixed with spice, and blueberry pie. It finished with a nice hit of smoke.

  • 2005 R Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Re:serve 88 Points

    Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley

    The nose had loads of toasted oak and smoke. There was also some plum and blackberry. The palate was slightly tannic, with blackberry, plum, smoke, and a very oaky finish.

  • 2006 Saint-Laurent Cabernet Sauvignon 80 Points

    USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Wahluke Slope

    The nose had black cherry and blackberry, and just a touch of smoke. The palate was acidic and tannic. It had cherry, blackberry and spice. I really didn't like this wine.
