Introduction
Great flight. So interesting to showcase the clos de l'arlot against the clos des forets st georges - as well as the two younger vines versions. I can't help but thinking the clos des forets st georges will have a longer cellar life, but feel so much more charmed by the clos de l'arlot that it had to be the WOTN. Also a plus for La Gerbotte, which I didn't fancy at this price for the 2006 vintage, but which I here felt was nice and very special (2007 vintage tasted tonight).

According to the winemaker, this has some pinot gris in it which explains some of the more tropical fruit aromatics. I actually think there is quite a bit of weight in the middle and get a mixture of white flowers and tangerine. good acidic structure and nice finish. I liked this better than the 2006.

really expressiv nose, some sweet fruit and a hint of pinot funk. The body does not live up to the promise of the nose though and I can't say that it's nothing but very good, just not as good as I had hoped when sniffing this pretta thing.

Deep and just lovely fragrance with smoke, mushroom and game, complexity and layers. Drink now or keep for a long time. A bit fruit forward but with a lot of elegance still.

once again - not bad, but just a bit frail, earth and some red berries, silky but with a thin finish.
Interestingly enough - a wine critic present at the tasting had this as the best showing wine. perhaps I can't project where this wine will go. I liked it better at the end of a long evening with a full (half)bottle

The nose is remarkably different from the clos de l'arlot: whereas the other 1er cru had open approachable chambolle like aromatics, the nose on the clos des forets st georges is more subdued (for now) with an elegant (something slightly vegetal, but not in a problematic way) touch. It has structure and grip. Cellar for a longer time than with most other 2007s before you open this up.

rich and some power - and a lot of frame too, for "young vines" (less than 20 yrs...) good grip and a darker balck berry, creme de cassis palette of flavors. Well made and much more typcial nuits st georges than the 2007. Just lacking a bit in complexity
