Lovely nose of roses, light tar, smoke . Medium and open bodied. Very good drinking. Black cherries, sweet pomegranate, incense sandalwood. Exotic and soft. Very light footed with drifting steps palate.

  • 2001 Pio Cesare Barolo Ornato 85 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

Black leather, brackish brambles, more ruggard and dirtier feeling like an old farmer with dirt fillled nails. Bbq meats, sweeter dark fruits. More voluptuous but lively fruits. Delicious despite being much sweeter in style. Attractive red cherries.

Preserved spiced plums, dried plum powder, black pepper. Some reductive soy notes but still sweet with lifted engaging cool nose. Powdery finish. Keeps sense of balance well .

    Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT

Extremely barnyardish! Cool but sutle leather, very horsey manure and urine but this is the oomph factor that I do enjoy. Not the most attractive but special. Plums and orange peels with spiced backyard flavours. Lovely exotic middle eastern spices finishin with a cuppa of italian cappucino.
