Introduction

This was a great chance to taste the same vintage of Ridge wines beside each other.

  • 2008 Ridge Zinfandel East Bench 88 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley

Tons of berries on the aromatics. Good fruit. Simpler. Yummy fruit. Very good, more typical of what I expect from most other zins. 8

  • 2008 Ridge Zinfandel Paso Robles 88 Points

USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles

5/28/10: Will have to retry. This was shipped a couple weeks ago, but was not showing well right now. The oak was not integrated at all with the wine, making this a little bitter. I'd give it a couple of months and then see what we have. 88?

4/6/10: Big, rich, rip zin. Some spices. Riper style. Some heat on the finish. Good, not my favorite, but also hard not to like. 88-89

  • 2008 Ridge Geyserville 91 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County

Beautiful nose. More tannic and complex then the zin dominant blends. This is great stuff. 90-91

Gorgeous blackberry fruit. A little dustiness. Well balanced, pretty delicious bordeaux blend.
