I picked up some every day chards to have with appetizers and for dinner for the chardonnay clan. I decided to bag them up and blind taste them. I knew what two were due to odd bottle size and one screw cap but tried to stay open minded. Good group consensus on One thru seven.
Seven contestant wines, group consensus was pretty even and consistent.
Ferrari was by far the number one. Number two was split between Snowqualmie and Vintjs, I think the RRV wine got the nod on complexity. CHarles Smith's Eve was next, nice mineral and aplle components and acidity stood out. The last three were bunched, but we agreed fifth was the Sonoma Cutrer. Surprising. Medicianl flavors were almost off but it was intersting. Very light. Of the last two,m they were plain and simple but quite drinkable. Barefoots NV got the nod over Three Buck Chuck, but the down under Aussie Chread was not bad at all. No fakeness so apparent in the CS reds.

Another light chard, a bit more flavor than the other light one (turned out to be Charles Shaw), no flaws, drinkable.

2007 Ferrari-Carano Chardonnay Alexander Valley 90 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley
Big nose and flavors. Oaky, buttery, full flavored. In your face sort of chard to love or hate. I thought t very full bodied and tasty. Maybe not a food wine for the faint of heart- certanly a great shellfish wine.
