70% grenache, 30% mourvedre. given the vintage, i was surprised at the light-weight of this body and it's medium+ acid. the nose shows cranberries and currants. it's really spicy on the palate with red licorice and cranberry fruit, with a spicy, peppery finish.
90% grenache, 10% mourvedre. dark purple colored with overripe plums and mocha on the nose. dense, but packed with fruit. really jammy, with pie filling flavors and a smoky, chocolatey aspect, especially on the finish. would've guessed this as a paso robles rhone blend or something. still, nice if you're looking for this fruit-packed style.
dark, dark, dark! smells like reduced fruit compote with blackberry jam. this is big and chewy, but totally delicious. the fruit is huge and ripe, but not too baked or flabby. tannins keep it in balance.

90% grenache, 5% syrah, 5% mourvedre. i really like the nose on this: cherry liquer, kirsch royale, ripe red cherries with some pipe tobacco as well. the palate is big, but smooth. this had more candied red fruit than some of the dark brooding fruit of some 07s. very nice.
wow, what a beauty. tasted on the second day opened. heard it was really tight upon opening. the nose is so pure with gorgeous currants, incense and tobacco. very well-balanced, great structure and a long finish. delicious, but i imagine in will unwind a bit with a few years in the bottle.
