  • 2008 Paul Cluver Riesling Estate Wine 74 Points

    South Africa, Cape South Coast, Elgin

    A mineral nose but initially nott much else, eventually a hint of fruit and flowers followed by some honey.
    Dry, not complex, quite refreshing, eventually some sweetness, disappointing, maybe it will improve with age.

    Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley

    Lime, petrol, a nose with some complexity.
    Dry but not very complex in the mouth, very refreshing, oily, grapefruit.

    Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley

    Petrol, mineral, lime, lean and rather lacking in aromatics.
    Dry but with with some non-integrated sweetness, high acidity, austere, needs five years to mature.

    Loads of citrus notes with a little petrol.
    Lovely, refreshing, balanced, light taste, intense, just off dry, concentrated, great length.

    New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough

    Rather restarined petrol and honey notes.
    Quite a mature feel to this wine, soft and refreshing, oily, grapefruit, great length.
