10 Year Vertical of Chateau Branaire (Ducru-Duluc)

We had a scheduled dinner party at Chateau Branaire, but Patrick the owner decided to treat us to a a 10 year vertical tasting before just before dinner. We tasted the 2000 vintage to 2009. A tasting like this is a tremendous opportunity to learn about the style of a Chateau and terroir and compare the effects of the vintage's weather on the wine. The wines were great and this Chateau has had a tremendous surge in quality.
