David had been going back and forth across country and finally came back from Tucson for a quick surprise birthday.

Caviar and lots of it. Simple whitefish, salmon roe, hackleback and american strugeon with all of the usual compliments.

Fois Gros from Michael restaurant. Strudel with a grilled slice. Take out and put in the oven for 15 minutes. Delicious.

Lamb chops from COSTCO. Trimed the fat. Used a mustard and breadcrumb mixture to coat the chops. Served with aspargus, roasted tomato's and fried leeks. We tried a '59 Montrose but is was DOA. This was the surprise since 1951 was not a great year.

For David I gave him a chocolate mousse cake and for the rest of us we had fresh berries and whipped cream.
