    Australia, New South Wales, Central Ranges

    Decanted for an hour, tasted double blind. This was a dark purpley red. The nose was very expressive, very sweet, very fruity (strawberry), very very very. Also on the palate, this is fruit juice, no tannins, nothing. Usch. 50+4+6+10+5=75

  • 2007 Villa Pillo Borgoforte Toscana IGT 86 Points

    Decanted for an hour, tasted double blind. A very dark red, almost black, with a purple tinge. Compared to the other wine, this was immediately interesting on the nose, not hugely expressive, but nice aromas of red berries and a bit of earth. The palate was quite full-bodied with some tannins, good fruit and nice acidity. Opened up with airtime to reveal a nice spiceyness. This is definitely a food wine, nice and with a good QPR. I should get a couple of bottles. 50+4+10+15+7=86
